- EW. The castle-age EW upgrade is necessary to make eagles competitive for mid-late castle age. Right now, mesos either have to go plumies-monks, or rush to imperial to make a proper army.
The EW upgrade can be reduced to something more reasonable like 300F 250G, while the EEW upgrade needs mainly more time.
- Swordsmen needed this bonus vs eagles, because they cannot beat anything else, so if the meso enemy goes mixed army, especially in castle age, swordsmen become cannon fodder...
Personally I expressed my idea to boost infantry in general, because they cannot mess with bloodlined cavalry and they die to all archers, so basically they die to everything. Especially in castle age they are useless. LSM and Berserker boosts are not enough to make them usable.
With a boost to infantry, obviously Goths bonus should be reduced to 25% or something.
- xbow upgrade is cheap and makes xbows really gamebreakers if you hit castle age faster after feudal wars. This one minute it takes to take bodkin and xbow and park in enemy town you can kill lots of stuff and win game right there. A small cost increase is not enough, but maybe it is a good idea nevertheless. I think this small cost is there in order to counter archer slow training time, especially compared to... ca. What ES did not get right is that CAs are useless as they made them. They lose vs cavalry, xbows, skirms, siege, eagles. They only beat infantry, a task that xbows are better at.
- Celtic siege is too bloody powerful in imperial, but scorpions are underused in castle age in general. The only nerf I would suggest is to keep faster fire 20% for all siege, but make it 10% for mangonels.
- I don't think Wagons need something more or less. Perhaps -10 wood. They are very strong when used right. They are truly unique, they can block paths, they are immune to scorpions and bombard cannons, in castle age they beat mangonels nicely, they are fast, they even get 5 base range with the imperial upgrade. Pretty beasty. Koreans can use more units for support, like champions, arbs, hand cannons, siege of course. 5 wagons together with 35 xbows make a formidable army for castle age when microed well. It is a great unit, with unique uses and few counters. When they appear on the battlefield in decent numbers they induce change of plan for the enemy, so they have strategical value. Obviously they are not a no-brainer.
