totally wrong philippe; it are +1/+2; however don't confuese AoE2 with AoFE; and finally in my AoE2 is written +1/+2 armor, so is this Age of Empires wiki totally wrong or what?

Indeed the Wiki is wrong. Damn it :|
But I'm still not convinced at all about Boyar benefiting from Infantry upgrades, this ain't an infantry unit.

this won't really help, especially in post imperial; and would you make a FC and then a mix of l.swords and boyars or what?; make them cheaper, cheap knights is the only bap that's missing.

The problem is mainly there is no problem: why do Slavic players will do Boyars if they got some formidable infantry (Druzhina +5 attack against adjacent units is awesome, it's like making all infantry small catas!). Plus Slavic infantry is easy to pump since their farmers work 15% faster.

Boyars role in Slavic games is to me more like killing archers/raiding villagers, though their PA is kinda low
For pure melee combat, I'll go 90% Champs/Halbs mixed with Heavy Scorps. Boyars are more situational and cost a lost of gold, better use that gold for siege

Its +4 attack vs adj, catas has +6 but catas 6 also hits the person in front of them, read my other post why boyars are useless as i said by giving them 12 anti cav armour (think catas they have 18) and -1 p armour they would actually usefull as right now they die to halbs faster than palas, which defeats there purpose as they cost more have 30 less hp and less pa, giving them anti cav armour would make them better vs halbs but weaker vs everything else, if guys want i can write up a bunch of reasons why conqs, e archers, berserks etc are useless just tell me the unit, on to the topic
imo saras cav archers should get +3 vs cav so they would actually be used compared to mams as right now there as good as jap cav archer which is kinda weird from a historical perspective. As i said before slavs cheaper siege should 20% in imp and 15% in caslte, that 15 gold off for h skorps and rams, much better than 9 before only beacuse there siege is terrible compared to celts, mongs etc 15% is just to small.

I played as Celts in FE today and their unic technollogy had its effect lowered. Now, instead giving 50% extra HP to all siege units, they give 40%. What did I think about this change? Crappy.

Well they still have the best siege in the game and there so take 2 hits from other so to kill and they still shoot the fastest here are the new hp.
so 98
h skorp 70
and ram 350
oh and post that game on aoczone, btw anyone know where i can download version 2.1 why? beacuse all the rec games (most of them) are from 2.1 or idk before that. And why are up 1.3 new triggers implemented?

Agree about Sara-CAs but I don't think Boyars will have any particular use.IMO alter it completely and make it a trash unit and give it some armor.Thus making them the only trash unit with meele armor.

Conqs are a good unit.
Iirc it was suggested that econq gets +2 attack, but I'm not sure.
Other than that, I'm all ears. :wink:

To the AoFE team: You've forgotten one of your changes in your AoC to AoFE 2.2 changelog:

"Elite Jaguar Warrior +1 bonus attack against infantry (10 to 11)"


Just test it. It wasn't in AoC, and it was added after.

Curious to see where the AoFE team said that.

Either way, I prefer 11 attack for Elite Jaguar Warriors, just because they are meant to be good against all infantry, Samurais included .

In AoFE, 1v1 FU Elite Jaguar Warrior vs FU Elite Samurai => E Jaguar Warrior wins with 6 HP left => pretty balanced, even more considering that EJW are created in 17 seconds, whereas E Samurai is created in 9 seconds
In AoC, the same matchup => E Samurai win with 2 HP left => kinda wrong IMO

Either way, even if EJW are slightly better, they're gonna be blown by Samurai fast creation time, so eh. If it's an error, it's a good one to be honest. :smile:

Samurai vs Jag cant be compared without considering the aztec farming bonus too which sets their eco up well in early imp. Samurai winning jag in 1v1 is just fine. Samurai are anti UU (however archer UUs generally win them still) and Jags are anti-infantry.

I think Elite Jaguar Warrior should keep +1 attack bonus vs infantry, seeing that a FU Aztec Champion with Garland Wars will lose to a FU Japanese Champion with the free +25% faster attack. So it seems fair that Elite Jaguar Warrior beats Elite Samurai and Aztec Champion loses to Japanese Champion. Besides Japanese have all Archery Range units and techs (like Ring Archer Armor and Thumb Ring), Heavy Scorpion, and better navy as well as good sea economy; hence more options in the late game than the Aztecs.

They dont need to have +1 vs inf, especially with the +1 p armor, IMO.

they should have +12 vs inf, +3 vs eagle and +3 vs buildings like every other medium imp infantry

11 is already very, very good. +15 attack bonus vs eagles? Lol that's way too much, a Jag w/garland wars already have 20 attack.

And concerning buildings, EJW already got +2 attack against buildings (just tested it on an outpost).

+1 is too much? ecatas got +18 bonus vs infantry

all other medium infantry got +2 ap vs building, and on imp +3, except jaguars

Yes but Ecatas only get it after researching Logistica and catas are created slower,and are much more expensive.

There is a bug; Siege Workshop hit points don't increase like other military buildings(Barracks. Archery Range, and Stable) when in Imperial Age. In 1.0c all military building(Barracks. Archery Range, Stable, and Siege Workshop) have the same hitpoints in Imperial Age.

Are you aware that the Slav farming bonus is set to 17.999995% (18%) and not 15%? I'm not against that, but at least it must be added correctly in the Tech Tree

The reason for that is that the real effect of the farming bonus is a lot lower (since farmers spend a lot of time walking around on the farm, rather than doing the actual farming).

The real effect seemed to be around 6-7 % unless there was an update on this after that.
