Announcing the Visible Cup!

Robo and I are proud to announce the Visible Cup - a multiple week semi-pro tournament using Hidden Cup 3 Settings! Since we were both considering hosting an event for semi-pro players after HC3, we combined the ideas to bring you the Visible Cup!

In Visible Cup - you guessed it - the identities of the players will be visible! Aside from this, the tournament will utilize Hidden Cup 3 maps and settings (see Rules & Settings for details). In this event, we would like to give a chance for the semi-pros who might have not made the cut into the Ro32 of HC3 or got eliminated, and anyone else that would like a chance at playing in a proper tournament.

The event utilizes a 64-player bracket that can be expanded up to 128 players if the number of sign-ups requires it. Any player is eligible to sign up, who has NOT participated in the main event of Hidden Cup 3. Sign-ups will be seeded by their 1v1 DE Random Map ratings.

If its 128+ signups, there will be a cutoff based on elo. So only 128 best players will get a spot.

 

Signups looking really good. It seems very likely that it will exceed 128 players, which is great considering original bracket was planned for 64 players. Its amazing to see many new names coming from HD/DE (I assume) and this is likely the first major tournament for them to participate in. We need these players having chance to play in tournaments - to be motivated - to improve over the time - surely some of them will make it to top in the future.
On the other side more than half of players are at least 1800 voobly, top 35-40 are 2k+ players (we will end with more 2k+ players in the bracket than HC3 including qualification), top 15 are 2k3+ voobly players and all of them have a real shot at winning the tournament.
With hypothetical bracket the bigger part of the 1st round matches will be likely quite one sided (although games between 60-70 seed should be quite high level and close), based on pure seeding already 2nd round matches will be worth watching. At the moment (and given both would advance), there would be R2 game Feage vs Dziamdziak.

 

Ya signed up for this one thinking it'd be a one and done deal but now looks like I may play a few games /rounds. Will be fun

Its more than 2 days to sign up actually. Looking at past tournaments, this is the biggest 1v1 tournament in terms of signups and players (with 128 player bracket) since 2015 WSVG qualification which had 187 players.

Definitely not me with my 1000 elo when I sign up earlier this week 11.

Dear everybody!
We are extremely happy about the HUGE amounts of signups to the event, so Robo and I decided to expand the brackets, so that all 175 players signed up can play. This means that the top players will not have to play in the first round. The full brackets can be seen over here:
