I've made a few Voobly accounts and I've played a few hundred games in NPL, 50 or so in the last couple of months. I'm getting sick of BF TGs in that lobby since experienced players often have to "babysit" their team. I'm tired of being pocket but walling for the flank and watching my wallers die while my teammates' scouts shoot the breeze. I tried to make the jump into MS lobby this week, but I can't get a game as a 0 gamer. Even if I do get in, if my first few games aren't played perfectly, I'll still be unable join MS games consistently. For now, I'm back to NP lobby, where I hope that my teammates know how to make more than a single barracks. Is the best way to make the transition into MS is by joining a clan? Or do I have to play a few dozen 1v1s in MS and hope those guys aren't low level smurfs?
+1, also if it has me or Gracie, you know it's a noobs game.my advice is just join any lobby with pg in it, if they let him play they'll let anyone play

its harder now, when i made the transition was when they moved inter to MS, i had been playing tgs in inter, so people knew me and my inter rate was good enough for them to let me play

So you want the Overall-Rating back, wasn't that completly useless and got removed because of that?
So you want the Overall-Rating back, wasn't that completly useless and got removed because of that?
I don't think it was useless. The main reason was that some players did not like some other players who had big ratings and were sitting on them not playing in the top 50. Those players gained those ratings mostly by receiving rating prizes from several tourneys (for example how Alive got his old 2k6 rating) and never played on those accs again. Since we have now rating decay over 2k+ then I feel this problem is now fixed. I don't know if its just me but it seems to me weird that we have more than 50% voobly players with 18/19/2k+ 1v1 rating and in the same time 15/16+ TG ratings. That might be because those players dont play that many tgs like thay do 1v1s but I feel their tg rating should be just higher. In this moment I feel like TG rating is just broken for the majority of voobly players (unless you have at least like 500+ TGs played on that account). I know that for higher tg rate you need a decent team nowdays. But should not high rated 1v1 players also have higher rated TG ratings? There might be exceptions but the most of them are definitely way underrated in TG ladder.
Lets discuss this. What are other people views on this?
If you are not a prick who plays only randoms that are 300 rating under you while acting like an asshole ingame also helpsI got terribly mad the day before yesterday. I had some free time and really wanted to play some TG. During 3 hours I played only 1 game (that last like 35 mins). The rest of the time I was waiting for another players... More than 300 of ppl were spectating streams/games in total instead of playing! (Now I know how Mango feels when complaining about impossibility of playing a decent game 111). I used to spectate a lot, but this will change :D I swear to all gods, I won't be spectating in lobbies anymore! :|
I thought we already elaborated, that amount of spectators doesnt affect games being hosted/played.
now we want to get NPL and MS together once againI thought we already elaborated, that amount of spectators doesnt affect games being hosted/played.
Ultrafong, I dont know how can you talk so much **** about Voobly and not having playing in it, face it, HD (steam) is dead as a competitive good platform as the Dodo, you can talk bs all the time but that is not going to change it, it is a **** bugged game since the beginning, and you can say good things about HD without bashing Voobly, just one recommendation: dont bash at least you know what are you talking about, because that makes you look like a fool.

Don't have a cow old boy, it's not dead as a competitive scene because it never had the competitive scene. We are talking about people watching games and not playing. I'm saying I actually play games. You take cheap shots like breathing air against a game I enjoy so don't expect me to lay down because the big bad JUDAS set me straight.

- Sweetjones - "Famous cheater? bcampbell is famous, used to come up constantly on r/aoe2 for drop tricking, even has a youtube video about him."
Lol you are right about him. The only reason I've ever heard that name is because he was dealt with during the ping desync and I saw it in the patch notes. His elo is permanently set to 1337, as is any other cheater. Uploading a youtube video doesn't make you famous though.
JUDAS you are just a sour grape.
As for your example I'm assuming that happened to yourself xD I personally don't play aussies because 250+ ping is too high. It's too bad because I usually like the players there, it's just a connection thing, nothing personal.
If guess if you play age of spectators though ping doesn't matter.
