Okay, so I found out that my 2.6 core duo, HD 4300 can only draw an avg. of 24-25 FPS at the start of a singleplayer scenario. This is without the new water enabled. I know that the HD 4300 is very low end, but it can run the old AoE2 @ 1600x900 @ 100+ FPS most of the time in singleplayer.
The...
It'd be really cool to see a civ with coloured units (black). Darker skin tones for some of the other civs, too. It'd add more depth to the atmosphere; more contrast and character to the civs. An African civs in itself sounds interesting.
Forget the other post. I didn't actually try 3.0 with another PC when I wrote that. I did that with 2.6 or 2.8, I cannot remember. I just assumed it was the same issue. My bad.
I now tried on another and higher-end PC and it feels much better on that machine.
So maybe it was indeed fixed, but...
Clarification,
Moving the mouse pointer around in-game is all fine and candy, but it all goes to hell when you start making boxes (to select more units). There's still the annoying latency issue that plagues the game. The drag and dropping simple feels awfully heavy and slow. Try holding the...
So they changed it from 40 to 60, okay. I'm annoyed it's not optional. Pick 40 or 60. How hard it be to make it optional? Sometimes it is actually easy to make everybody happy. Simple option. Also, such bad decisions probably scares the old AoEII pro scene away besides other ordinary people that...
I don't like AoE2HD not having traditional LAN, but the next best thing is authorized LAN. Authorized LAN = requiring initial handshakes, but then essentially being a LAN connection. Ping and performance (+stability) is very important to me enjoying a game. I haven't brought AoEHD2 yet, but I...
Hmm. I think I remember reading over at Steam some months ago that it was planned to implement being able to select more units at once. Maybe with FE. Original is 40, right? I think it was 200-250 planned. Maybe I'm totally wrong. However, if I remember correctly, then please tell me they plan...
Really tough AI to beat on land maps (I play on moderate). It's intelligent most of the time, and thus it's fun to play against, and it uses different strategies.
My only complain, so far, is that it seems really stupid on island maps. It builds too many war ships, and when it controls the sea...
It'd be a very wrong decision to replace the looks of any of the original units. Steam Workshop is made for what you seem to want without destroying any original parts. Hidden Path already made this mistake by replacing farms, cliffs and icons, etc. They could just have made it official Steam...
Thanks alot mate. Setting the playlist up via 'FixAoFE.exe' worked perfectly. Obviously, I got the location wrong and that was the issue. Even the slider in-game seems to work great. I can adjust the music level to my liking now, too. With playing music of the CD it was always too loud or...
Doesn't work at all. And why should it? UserPatch states it needs the absolute path which 'Sound\*' is not. But worth a try, I guess. Does it actually work for you, though?
Well, that's a okay solution. But so is playing the music manually.
I'm trying to get my music to play automatically through UserPatch's playlist feature for AoFE, but it just wont seem to work. I used the UserPatch's installer to create the playlist, so I know it's done right. Is the Windows media player a requirement or something? It isn't stated.
I use Win7...
I'm not a pro gamer. Actually, moving the mouse cursor around in AoE2HD is perfectly smooth (at high FPS, at least). That's no 'heavy feel' to it.
Now when making boxes, however. Like for selecting multiple units. What's it called? Drag and drop, I think. Then there's an extremely heavy feel to...
Okay, they should fix it then.
I also have another complain about the cursor icons. The hand is just way too small compared to the spear. It's laughable. They should fix that, too.
Bump. I just want to be able to use the system cursor instead of the hardware accelerated mouse cursor. It gives better performance. I don't make much sense or? :D
I cannot seem to get 'NormalMouse' to work on AoE2HD? I suppose that it just doesn't work. I just cannot stand the heavy input lag feel when making boxes (no vsync, of course). It's ridicules.
That's because your signal is digital, pretty sure.
Try to adjust all the settings on the monitor. Phaze (If VGA), sharpness, whatever, change it all on/off/up-down. Watch for effect!
Just for fun. This is the effects that scaling has on fog in AoE2 (like different resolution can induce on...
