Like choosing a specific moment in a rec, then creating a save for restoring, so people can actually test out if the game is still winnable under certain conditions.
SC2 has this (ability to restore games from a rec)Like choosing a specific moment in a rec, then creating a save for restoring, so people can actually test out if the game is still winnable under certain conditions.
there is not even the ability to rewind in a recorded game or jump to a specific time other than fast forwarding......Like choosing a specific moment in a rec, then creating a save for restoring, so people can actually test out if the game is still winnable under certain conditions.
You can do this with CaptureAge. (as long as you purchased through steam and not the official MS store)there is not even the ability to rewind in a recorded game or jump to a specific time other than fast forwarding......
that's 1. third party 2. I think only the paid version of CA has this option..You can do this with CaptureAge. (as long as you purchased through steam and not the official MS store)

This should be a basic function for an RTS game in 2024 in the base game..
CorrectIn the original game you could watch a recorded game, then open the menu and create a Save Game. Then when you loaded that file you could continue playing from that point forward. Of course you would be playing by yourself, but it was still useful sometimes to re-examine situations. As far as I know this isn't possible in DE.
How did we end up losing functionalityIn the original game you could watch a recorded game, then open the menu and create a Save Game. I don't really remember, just a bit about it. Would all other player units then do nothing or were other players played by AI?In the original game you could watch a recorded game, then open the menu and create a Save Game. iirc they did nothing. Perhaps they might have had some default strategic numbers set, as if they had the "None" AI setting. Not sure though.I don't really remember, just a bit about it. Would all other player units then do nothing or were other players played by AI?
I see. Would have been really cool to load in a game of two top players and then play "as one of them" against the other one, even if the opponent was just controlled by an extrem AI.iirc they did nothing.
