One year ago, there was only one player that won things: TheViper. He was unbeatable. And then, one day, Mr Yo defeated him. It was unexpected, yeah, but not ilogical, since Mr. Yo had won a big tournament before, and was (and is) considered one of the top players in the world.
Some time passed, and then Liereyy won RBW2. Okay, not a big surprise. Larry was always a promise of AoE2, always considered top 2 or top 3. Plus, it was know at the time that he was, finally, training for tournaments, so it was a matter of time for him to win something.
And now our Lord won RBW3. Not highly unexpected. Yeah, Maybe Liereyy was favorite, but we all knew Daut have been playing at an incredible level for a while, and, of course, has a lot of experience, so, it was logical for him to win something, eventually (and I hope he will win again soon. All hail the lord).
The thing is, from last january to this january, 3 players besides Viper won big tournaments (and TaToH and Hera won some smaller ones). The scene has get a lot more competitive, so, now it's seems anyone can beat anyone. It's seems that there's not a clear "top 5" anymore, but rather 10 or so players that can win over the rest, depending on the day.
So, in your opinion, who's the next one? who's gonna be the next guy to get a really big tournament?
