This argument makes 0 sense to me, as cannot logically be against range mod and in favour of others. If you want to argue against it then you need to make a different distiction between them. Visual mods should remain players choice as it always has been.
if you say it like this it makes 0 sense, but what you say is just not true.
small trees, plants cube etc just make sure you do not miss out on information that the games wants you to have. (like boars behind walls: they have outlines, but sometimes still are almost impossible to see).
range mod gives you an information that is not visible in the game. if you want to know a towers range you first need to click the tower to check the upgrades. and then even with grid mod you need to count tiles. that is quite some effort compared to just having a line on the screen. especially when you are not moving straight into a tc but from some weird angle where you would even need to do some math in the background.
