Rereleasing their old popular game running on a twenty year old engine and while paying some intern tier coders to make some broken civs and the game mechanics worse than before... I don't know how it can be anything other than a cash grab. At least the artists they paid did a pretty good job I think.
Did you guys even see liereyy vs vinchester? 11 months after release and players can still drop without their opponent knowing while the game produces an unrestorable file. Tell me the last time that happened in a tournament before november 2019.
