Is it really so hard because there's this voobly mod already....Another downside of "WK 2.0" would be lack of or difficult implementation of new qol features such as new hotkeys, shift queue etc
You're correct that the competitive goes where the money is.This is easy: the competitive scene goes wherever the money is (which also plays a big role in bringing new players), so DE is the future here. MS wont be willing to support any tournamets that encourage people to play outside the official plattaforms.
In the other hand, i cannot take seriously any comment that proposes to go back to voobly. I mean, lobby systems are outdated, and the lack of dedicated servers makes it laggy af. The most reasonable thing is to wait for the next patches, since the developers have been working hard in improving the game (with decent success, even if we can all agree that the DE release was premature).
Games on Voobly with UP 1.5, at least when players have a stable internet connection, are less laggy then on DE right now
I've personally been enjoying DE, but NAC brougth light to the fact that some strategies become less viable strictly due to badly made game mechanics (i.e. bad pathing of melee units), which is not recognizable at my level, but a massive problem in a competitive setting. Hopefully for HC3 right?
memb plays on a high end pc but the game seems very slow (units seem to move slower than voobly) idk maybe its just that the animations in voobly are not in 60 fps they look fast?I think for you guys it's PC lag limitating you.
Because for the overwhelming majority of people, the playing experience on DE is so much superior to that of Voobly. That is, when you can get a game that does not crash, of course.

The 20 fps is the old voobly 1.4 in the multiplayerYeah I believe that might play role.
60 fps obviously look much smoother than the 20 fps you get with UP on Voobly, which might give you the impression the units move slower.
Having said that, I personally never had the feeling the game runs slower in DE.
The 20 fps is the old voobly 1.4 in the multiplayer
It becomes 60 fps in the 1.5 until long forest games
Both are having 60 fps single player
You can please see the fps from the game

Tech hotkeys for Age of Empires II: The Conquerors
Use hotkeys for technologies and queue them like units!www.voobly.com
We had this discussion before.
Trirem confirmed multiplayer UP 1.5 runs at 20fps.
Single player is indeed 60fps.
So maybe Trirem checks this way tooSeems like you are right indeed...I always used this as a reference, where there's no mention of increased fps in MP:
I simply checked the UserPatch changelog where it only mentions fps change for single player. But that scripter comment clearly implies that MP on 1.5 is 60 fps so it must be true.So maybe Trirem checks this way too
Forget to edit?

Sad to see not many people going with MQ over SQ (because they don't like it)... but I guess for some reason that will never change. And the lack of attack move. And...www.aoezone.net
A rematch option up to a certain point would be great. Played a nicely matched up 4v4 yesterday and another 3v3 along with a smattering of smashages each way - somehow I didn't beat Nicov and Fedex, think I threw that one.
But if every player in the game ticks the rematch box, it randomises the map again, lets you pick civ again but keeps a nice 4v4 or 3v3 game. I realize the chance of ELO abuse here so maybe throw in a max amount of games you can do that or keep halving the ELO you get each game or something like that. Or in one set of games you are only allowed to go +50 - 50 ELO, so if team 1 wins then team 2 wins it doesn't mean game 2 is worth less than game 1 etc.
Just make the rematch option send the players into an unranked lobby where they are then ready to go. Then the system cant be abused.
And at the same time quite unlikely to be used.
