A question mostly aimed at higher rated BF-players (1600+ voobly)
Would you like to see changes to the map BlackForest? I am planning to make an update to implement fixed position and to tackle some major imbalances such as bugged resources, but I'm also consider doing more changes. What are your opinions about:
Planned:
- fixed position (choose if you play flank or pocket)
- start with 1 sheep controlled (HC2 style)
- preventing player's golds/stones/sheep or boar being trapped in the forest
Possible additional balance (downside is less randomness)
- standardizing ponds and fish (either removing all, or giving each player a pond with fish)
- standardizing extra boars (removing those, adding extra boar for all players, or maybe even giving equal amounts per team?)
- same for berries
- standardizing relics (roughly equal amount per side)
- preventing bugged neutral resources (small gold and stone piles trapped in forest)
- standardizing player area size (all players roughly same building space)
- equal distance between players (no super pockets, or players spawning in rush distance, downside is more predictable position of enemy, and less likely to pull off some out of the box strategies)
Additional BF-specific things:
- Sling tax?
- Onagers cut?
- Extra cutting tech?
- Allied vision?
- Old AOC-version stone wall hp?
Terrain styles:
- snow version?
- additional versions (jungle, boreal, swamp, savannah, rainforest, ... ?)
-----
I'm planning to work on multiple popular standard maps to make fixed position versions and tackle problems like bugged animals and minerals and fair distribution of important resources (such as relics, neutral gold/stone, access to woodlines, building space, distance to water, etc)
