Dear Community,
For almost a year now we have partnered with World Series of Video Games on events; we are happy to announce the partnership has grown into a merger as we combine forces to take competitive gaming to the next level!
Recent announcements such as the Voobly LAN Party in July and the Age of Empires II 1v1 Live Tournament hosted in the Maldives are great examples of our potential future together.
As we started working closely with WSVG we realized we both have very similar goals. WSVG was interested in developing a platform comparable to Voobly for games such as Counter-Strike etc , had a relatively large development team and also had ambitious plans for live gaming events. Why do the same thing twice?
Another important consideration was development. While we've tried different strategies over the years, we don't believe Voobly is meeting its full potential, the added development resources from WSVG will be an enormous boost.
The organizations will be combined under WSVG headed by Luis Prata with Voobly.com remaining a distinct and separate brand/website. The merger, will allow us to benefit from strengths of WSVG and Voobly:
We're expecting significant improvements as the merger accelerates what either one could do alone. Stay tuned for more exciting announcements over the next couple of months!
Thank you for your continued support,
Voobly Team
