I'm so so so sorry if it's against the rules to make suggestions, but I didn't find any rule about that. So, here I go. I thought that if any other civilization is about to be added on FE, it could be Portugueses.
Why? They lived in the same age of Spanish and they discovered the meso-american civilizations, therefore Portugueses lived in the same time of the other civilizations of AoC. Portugueses and Spaniards are counterparts in many aspects, they were the pioneers on the great navigation and they're very religious.
By that way, Portugueses would got bonuses on naval units and on Monastery. Like Spanish, Portugueses got two exclusive units. The one produced in the castle is Hunter, a type of gunpowder foot unit. The other exclusive unit is the Caravel, a ship used to transport and exploring. Caravel's line of sight is huge and are upgraded by Town Center technologies. Caravel works like a "walking outpost". They're used to discover new paths in the sea and to watch enemy from far, they can also transport units. This is the way I found out to reflect the work Portugueses had while travelling in the sea to discover and reach America. Being so useful they're very expensive, but as they don't attack, they don't cost gold, only wood. I think that a price of 250 wood is fair.
Monk and Naval Civilization
Bonuses:
- Monk is 20% cheaper (costs 80 Gold)
- Gold Miners works 15% faster
- War Galley research is free
Unique Units:
Caravel (Docks): extensive line of sight, used to explore sea and discover new lands
Hunter (Castle): gunpowder foot unit, attack bonuses vs. foot archers:
Availabe in: http://www.expatsportugal.com/forum/vie ... hp?p=79277
Unique technollogy: Ships are generated 20% faster
Team Bonus: Ships are 20% faster
Comment what you think about my suggestion, wheter it is good, bad, abusive or anything else.
