I play on higher (than LAN-)Niveau since october 2008 (24, almost 4 years and still noob ), but I started playing online in 2006 on Hamachi for about half a year. I miss my Hamachi times a bit , AoC seemed to be so easy. 11
It was my 17th birthday on 23rd
So i got AoC as a present from someone.
so i started playing it and i became an addict so fast (played it whole night lmao)
Then next day i searched how to play aoe online and found gameranger! Then i joined a game they said im italics i said no im not italic (thought they said i was from italy )
After like 4 months i became from 4xx to 10xx
Then i found someone to train me. He was a 1900+ player he told me voobly aoczone etc he taught me basic booming and stuff.. I was like hes the best player ever, thats when he mentioned about daut and chris.
After sometime i reached 1550 ( at BF ~_~ ) i was a full bf player i played bf then quit for almost a year in February 2011.
Then i returned and played a lot of BF with my RushRox acc even reached 18+ <3.
Now im playing mostly arabia on my Loner__ acc ( im only 16+ in ara)
Started with the AOC demo in 2005 when I was in college.. played little bit in zone that time.. came back to AOC 2009 September on game spy arcade playing a map called CBF.. played noob CS till about last 1 yr and now noobing in RM..
summer 1998 a year after AoE came out AoE:RoR then in fall 1999 moved to AoK Trial becuase i didnt have mone for full version moved to the full version in 2001 but still kept playing AoK trial until later 2002 since i was addicted to the maps, shortly after i moved to AoC i remember calling all AoCers noobs because they didnt have to micro each villager/ galley individgually
I started in 2002 at the university. Once i saw an AOK tourney advertising and i decided to join in (before that i used to play vs the computer using cheats haha). Well i joined this tourney and got easily raped by a guy called "Kefren", and i decided not to stop playing until i beat him. A couple years after it took my like 3 hours to beat him for the first time and well, i never stopped playing :D
since aoe1 came out :S
online i played AoC since ~2000/2001, cant remember 11
but also had some pauses in that time, i guess i didnt play for 2-3 years.
and in ~2009 i also did some RoR online-games :P
Maybe the first person in play aoc? 11, i started in 1997 in Age of Empires, i played with hititas and knew the power of wololo soon. Later in 1999 i bought AoK and my first game was a 4vs4 Baltic with chinese civ, one enemy killed me very fast with onagers 11, at that time, all allies insulted me **** rookie. since 2004 i didn't play online and i came back in march this year!
In 2011 Rm in voobly (before that 1-2 months CBA with my college friends on gr)-I used to call people "pros" who did a 22 pop scout rush one me and flamed them why they joined my room when i wrote noobs only -not knowing any 13xx player knew the basic build--orders11
got to 15xx pretty quik in 4-5 months in bf -but what i hated about voobly that i dropped every 3 rd game and had 500+ pings so i stopped for some time and after i got a new connection I started again.
After some time i got to know about the German nC zone where people used to play mostly in the nights after work and weekends.I thought i was at 17xx level that time but was proven wrong since i only played bf.
Some nC players who had a high rating and have been playing the game for more than 5-10 years with lot of expirience gave me tipps how to grush and simple build orders.I thought back then the difference between 16xx and 17xx is that a 17xx knows how to drush 11. I played quite many games in 2012 and climbed the ladder in the nC zone and eventually caught up with those who had taught me the build orders and started to beat them.
The Zone became pretty activ and with jordan joining in for a few games ,i really enjoyed playing with or vs him.it was allways seemed impossible but when ever my team took a game from him, since he had to team lower rated players it was a pretty good feeling 11
Also in late 2012 i started 1v1 and was really crappy in huns wars , got bored after 1-2 games a day and didn't really get better. In 2013 i picked up 1v1 again and started to beat many people in 1v1 who had called me noob the year before.Ares helped me alot with my build-orders etc ,and mostly the nC crowd.Jordan probably the most -giving me small small tip's when the eco ups should be researched and what i do wrong and encouraging me to play at my best .No matter how many Times i want to stop AOC it always haunts me back.I wish i had discovered it earlier and not missed out on the great tourneys and clans.
wtf??? there r many new players around here 11 i started playing on 2004, my frd teached me and i started playing on brazilian irc. after like 3monthns i started playing on zone until i got around 18+, but used to play mostly on ladder with frds. its funny to remember dogao, feage, brother leo, bling, goku all around 17+ hahahaha then zone closed and i move to gamepark, thats when i joined RoR on 2007 11 and still playing, but with toooo many breaks. i only have one month more, then i will have to quit aoc again
as a child i would play every now and there. it was one of my favorite games to play. i remember all the hours in the scenario editor.
i didnt begin to get real til 2012 when i started practicing with the medium/hard comp, then with a friend, and then december 2012 i joined my first match, and lost, foreshadowing a terrible loss streak i had for a while (i think it was like 11 losses).
Wow, lots of new players here for such an old (yet timeless) game!
I started playing the original AOE in 2000. Was about 13 at the time. MSN Gaming Zone baby.
I remember all the old clan websites made on geocities with the spinning gifs of priests, hoplites, etc etc. 11
Joined my first clan back in like 2001 or something. Pulled off a great attack with Imperial Bowmen playing as Phoenicians.
When AOK/AoC came out, I was more than hooked. I fell behind because admittedly, my micro skills weren't quite as up to par as others, and I didn't have the time to play as we shared a family computer and still had dial-up. Then, eventually, I had to quit because it began taking over my life and my girl (at the time) was threatening to leave me 11111.
Fast forward to two months ago, heard about AoEII HD on steam. Was beyond stoked. downloaded and haven't looked back. Have spend some time waching TheViper play on Youtube. holy crap... does he have 10 fingers on each hand or something? His hotkey knowledge and skill is absolutely ridiculous. I've improved, though, and have won the last 6 of 7 games. Will probably hop on Voobly soon as some point (after much more needed practice!)
Glad to see the AOK community is still strong after all these years!
