No, but maybe I don't understand what you mean by "behavioral?" I don't believe it's something people can control, but I agree people can control whether they have sex or not (homosexual acts). I disagree that it's fair in any way they not be allowed to do what heterosexuals can do.
I think we both understand each others' positions here but fundamentally disagree with how much of a "choice" being gay is. Because I contend that homosexuality is as much a choice as skin color, I disagree with the idea that it could be fair for a God to punish people that He destined for punishment (either in forced repression in this life, or eternal damnation in the next).
I see. It seems you consider homosexuality much more as a condition to where they must always act out on it; along lines of like diabetes, alcoholism, or the like as those were your examples and connect with them. For what I mean with it being behavioral, isn't homosexuality defined as sexual behavior between same sex?
I think one of my issues was I was discussing a general theme which can't be understood without some specific albeit theoretical examples (due to no extensive research/personal experience) which would hold more weight for you perhaps. Those were in my head when writing my stance. I won't really mention it as it seems we are done.
My serial killer analogy is regarding the idea that a practicing homosexual can simply accept Jesus, continue to have sex with men, and still be rewarded with heaven. The serial killer can have a come to Jesus moment, renounce his former ways, and get into heaven. A homosexual can have a come to Jesus moment, renounce or repress his homosexuality, and get into heaven. Maybe each of them has a couple "slip ups," but as long as they truly believe and ask for forgiveness, my understanding is that they are still saved, no matter the "gravity" of their former sins.
That's all correct from what I know.
But a murderer can't just "accept Jesus" with every intention of continuing to murder (and doing so).
That is tough to answer as said, but from my perspective to say, its because there is supposedly some point of no return with God if serial killer continuously kills (its kind of "impossible" to reach from what I get; but few examples may hint to it; best to ask someone better). Aside from being a cardinal sin (which may be relevant and but usually irrelevant with salvation; depending on case such as this one where continuous), there was one example of a tribe with continuously having idols (#1 nono), never stopping, and the result is that the were removed from I believe Revelations and another past book, being the tribe of Dan. They were given 600 years to repent, but did not and may have gotten to this 'point of no return.' Its been debatable if its a hidden message, which I think it is. But continuously murdering for your example, may fit in somewhere due to it being one of the things God hates most, up there with idolatry. And as mentioned, if the serial killer has an issue in his brain which I believe there was in some studies I came across, it takes a much different meaning that I can't answer. That is if they said yes to Jesus, to add.
That's splitting hairs.
I am not sure I follow you. What did you mean?
