Back then it was something like Mongols + Huns + Chinese + Mayans, where all civs can somewhat play both the flank or pocket role. Which four civs are the best for random position arabia in 2021?
Poles missing last cav armor is a big issue tho......Might not be optimal but poles seem like a good option, with decent arbs and cavalry, especially for for late castle-early imp games. Plus their team bonus makes scouts more effective vs enemy archers during feudal wars, further incentivizing faster games. Sicilians, Huns and Magyars all seem very good too.
It was never ment as a knight but a CA boost.even with random positions, i don't see japan getting picked. so giving them bloodlines continues to be a harmful change
these are the easier options: civs with both thumbring + bloodlines
berbers
china
cumans
huns
indians
italians
japanese
lithuanians
magyars
malians
mongols
persians
poles
portuguese
saracens
tatars
turks
vietnamese
other than cumans & poles, it's mostly fair civs
china and huns still get boosted by the team bonus, but the power level is lower than 1.0c days. and mongols got nerfed even more than those two.

magyars can be seen as more flexible version of Spanish flankI think people that put Magyars on there list forget how bad there eco is. They are good as pocket thanks to there Scout bonus but as a flank they just have full upgrade arbs with no relevant bonus at all and lose to every other arb civ on eco alone.
