i don't see how streaming will work and why we would need it in the first place
a cool thing would be for some guys to make a cast after the game is played, basically watching the rec, and commentating as it goes
I'm sure almost the whole AoCZone community would watch. It would be really cool if one of the players is the one streaming because then we could see all the micro and macro that replays don't showhow many people will watch the LIVE streams?
is the effort worth it?
after the game is played, and rec released, i think the far better option would be to have some guys cast them. ie commentate while watching the recorded game, and saying what's going on, as well as giving their pov, opinions, etc

Apparently goodboy did it a while ago :SI'm sure almost the whole AoCZone community would watch. It would be really cool if one of the players is the one streaming because then we could see all the micro and macro that replays don't showhow many people will watch the LIVE streams?

OMG i would love that, but thats too much to ask for... but if it only could be possible aoc would reach the next level...
You don't have to pause anything. The player can private steam to the commentator and the commentator could stream 10-15 mins later with a DVR type program (I'm sure there's one for computers).you are all talking about delay, however you forget a important thing...
If there is a delay of 10 min and someone need to pause the game BINGO you ****ed it up cuz the streaming will keep showing the game and while the game is paused someone can watch what is happening xD.

It gonna open many moral doubts, because if program itself allows u real time streaming, the system can be used without control in bad purposes, as Dogao said. Better is to mechanism be designed to disable possibilities for abuse, it means the user couldnt have a way to reduce delay (which should be at least 15 min). The player can private steam to the commentator and the commentator could stream 10-15 mins later with a DVR type program (I'm sure there's one for computers)
Hey guys, I occasionally play Starcraft 2 as well and enjoy watching the live streams from tournaments now and then. I understand that if we could make something similar it would be an awesome way to follow this tournament, but I honestly don't think that's possible. A lot of you have mentioned that it can be abused and I agree. Also the game is rather old so doesn't really have a spectator mode like someone pointed out, which would make it rather hard to commentate live. Grev was talking about recording it live and do commentary on it, probably the safest way of doing something live. Again, I think it wouldn't work because recording makes the framerate drop remarkably and it would be one-sided due to the lack of a spectator mode. BokiSergy pointed out that a tournament should be as lag and bug free as possible, which I totally agree with. Tournaments are the real deal, prize money and everything, hence everything should work 100%Its interesting but there are many ways to abuse it which means coming up with rules around it will be difficult, we'd be happy to listen to any proposals and consider the possibility to implement it in later stages, you have time to work on it.
