In my opinion, War is coming REALLY should not be paused because one member in the forum(you know who is that guy) keep on crying how unfair the seeding is for SY A, when SY A themselves do not even complain．I normally dont like to criticize admin decisions, but pausing the tournament with so many players dedicating hours per day practicing, so many viewers hyped to watch them playing is a RIDICULOUSLY bad idea．

Also just to let your guys know, Feage said he took holidays this week from work to play against tyrant. Can you imagine how much dedication and sacrifice players put in the tournament? And one cry baby ruined all these.

The truth is that chinese players blame and complain a lot in their biggest aoc community forum. (Chinese forum)

I think we all agree (except jinxed) that the staff has done an amazing job.

Okay so here is my opinion about it.
As Nadya has already said I think it would be more fun if there are new matchups since some teams have already played eachother that are now in the RR stage. This is my only opinion about the RR groups, but we were still happy enough to not cry out because it's not THAAAAT bad and we accept it. You haven't actually seen any player complain, only some spectators.
But here is my opinion about the pause, which I am way more negative towards. This pause is a real buzz-killer and I am not sure what it is suposed to achieve? It's not like the forum ******s (Jinxed11 among others) will change their opinion about the tournament/sponsor (thanks a lot for the sponsoring by the way). They will still cry and flame no matter what happens. The best solution would just to swing the ban hammer in their faces and teach them something. There are gonna be haters, no matter what happens. While 5 guys post hatred here on aoczone, there are thousands of viewers/players/followers of the tournament that are happy with the result and they won't say anything, because there is nothing to change.
So this is the first reason why I think this pause is useless, because it won't achieve anything good.
And then we get to the personal reason for me as a player/team leader of one of the remaining teams. Even though I haven't actually played any tournament games lately I've still been around training with my team and thinking out strategies etc. But now when there is a two weeks hold, I kind of lost all the interest I already had. As already mentioned, players have changed scheudles/took holidays etc for this tournament only. And then all that **** is done for nothing because some big mouths gets to a grown up man's feelings with some words? I mean no offense to the sponsor, but this is the internet and there will always be hate. When you encounter these haters, you just gotta ignore it and shake it off since it doesn't matter or is constructive in any way.
So to conclude: This pause is doing nothing good but only harm. It ruins the flow teams have atm and just harm the players. Withdraw the pause, ban some morons (using the internet should require an IQ above 80 to get rid of them), and keep the tournament going. This is like when a team takes timeouts in ice hockey just to ruin the other team's flow, it affects all the 8 teams the same way.

This is a complete and total joke. And should have been seen coming a 3000 miles away. First things first - 99.9% of the people involved in this whole fiasco love aoc, and don't even want to imagine this community dying. I know i sure as hell don't. I have spent the last 2 years of my life learning and loving this game.
When I look at the round robin brackets i was disappointed. I won't lie. I wanted to see SY vrs Warlords. Then Vrs Legends in the finals.
But this whole entire issue was completely blown out of proportion by the lack of transparency in the seeding. And just how much people care about this.
the biggest problem is with the community growing in size tournaments can no longer be held like a casual affair when they are on this scale. For the fans involved this isn't just a game anymore this is a sport. A lot of people stop whatever they are doing to watch viper stream. I know one of my friends cancelled a date with his girlfriend bc viper was streaming his games vrs YO. And he wanted to watch it.
Makes him sound like a no life, right? Well not really, AoC is a very small E-Sport. and as a sport people just care that much.
Look at football stadium brawls. This is in a lot of ways similar. And the voobly staff isnt prepared for it.

First time poster but long time fanatic interrupted when Zone went down many moons ago but got suckered in by an old friend buying me the HD edition for Xmas. I'm a little bewildered to see the Aoe community thriving in the manner that it is! On a similar note I am in awe of the dedication and enthusiasm of the AoCZone/Voobly community keeping this dated old thing alive after so long. The casts, competitions and giveaways are really something else - long may its success continue.
I have mixed feelings on the topic of hand. On the one hand its unbelievable that WiC has a pool of $120k and certainly generated much interest in AoE as well as pulling people like myself back in. On the other hand not being entirely familiar with the reputations of some clans (I remember L_Clan and know that Tyrant are their equivalent a decade on) - I had hoped for more transparency in understanding how the teams were seeded and would be seeded in subsequent rounds. I had a look around these forums and found the questions I had were being asked by others but always seemingly avoided.
Additionally, whilst it's testament to the great job that Voobly do that Tyrant's sponsor has fronted the pool - Voobly does seem to have neglected its responsibility in ensuring that due process has been carried out. I believe it is entirely rational to question whether it is a balanced fair playing field when the sponsor of the competition also has a vested interest in the outcomes of two superteams. On the face of it Voobly have either deliberately avoided action or have not even considered the necessity to address this issue. Indeed having recognized that there may be a problem - Voobly almost seem to be acting as a bystander in the current stand-off allowing one of the Tyrant participants in the competition to primarily negotiate this situation with the sponsor on Voobly's behalf! It may be Tyrant's competition but Voobly have a responsibility to its community to ensure fair play and transparency irrespective of the money on the table.
Nevertheless, thank you again for keeping AoC alive and for all the efforts of those who seem to give so much to the community - 15 years on and AoC is still evidently in safe hands.

Since there is a 2 week pause, add an other challenge round and give the teams a chance to sort it out through challenging each other if they are not happy (although the teams have not expressed any disagreement with the seeding so far).

It was completely unnecessary to pause the tourney. The facts were clear. Hasan, aoc India and I don't know who else said all that needed to be said. The sponsor shouldn't have delayed it. Yes certain people went overboard with their criticism. I can understand his feelings because I've experienced the same during TAC.

I understand why they took this decision, it is to think twice if what they have been doing for the community is ok, it might look like a punishment to the community for the negativity about tyrants, about everything they have done.
This is not the first time that some negativity has been disccussed during all Tyrant tournaments, i have to admit i have wrote some negativity but it is pure criticism, i recognize the strenght of both tyrant teams and thats why i think the settings should be fair for the lower teams in order to keep the fun, dm was dead until the rm players invasion but DM is just a zombie, so what was the point of adding it if there aren't enough good players for all the teams? thats was a mistake and i know some of you liked it but this is not about tastes is about facts and adding Dm had a negative impact as it was spected.
This pause should define if they are going to take some of the criticism to make the things even better than now or if if they are just going to leave hosting the tournaments, whatever their decison is, we should respect it, they have done so much, this pause should let us wonder what would be if tyrants does not longer sponsor their team or tournaments? i predict a big empty, tyrant team disbanded and months of expert inactivity but perhaps the rise of new experts who knows.
