only thing objectively bad about slinging is when one player do 200 pop of eco/carts, it's abusive and very boring, players want to see every civ contributing to post-imperial bloodshed (even azt/brit/jap/vik etc.).

don't really care, u got army? just make army
war is coming will be played by experts, experts can make any civ looking good, looking much better than playing post-imp monopoly
neither of two, i am right
first point: i won't add to the insult that you thought i thought you can sling yourself

11 funny to read this topic and this now, sponsor must be sad watching this grand final with full sling all games, almost no one game without sling, for someone who wanted a tournament without sling. In the end it comes down to what those who sponsor the events wants. If you don't enjoy watching games with sling, where it's likely that sling would be a dominant strategy if it was allowed, would you sponsor tournaments with multiple digit numbers of dollars? One has to view it from the viewers and those who sponsor the tournaments perspective as well, and not only what would be fair for the game or the players. Tournaments like these are still a privilege, and not something that we as a community should make demands regarding what the sponsors of this, the Nations Cup, and all future and past tournaments want.
The final decision on slinging has not been made AFAIK, but I'm just saying regardless of what the decision will be, I would hope the community would respect the decision and that we won't see many negative reactions as there seems to be a fair amount of support for both options. I think the fact that these sponsors reaches out to us and gives us the amount of freedom with our tournaments over the years, and asks for our opinion shows that they also care about what the community wants, and we should be happy for that.
If there would be rules on slinging, then they would be very clear, Carlos.
I see the point of slinging providing a possible chance for lesser teams to cause upsets, but I personally think if the better and dominant team relies on heavy slinging as well, they will be even more dominant as they will be able to abuse the sling even better. I also think having one player just sending resources the whole game is a bad thing for the game, and not the way the game should be played. I completely understand the reasonings for it being a part of the game and a strategy like everything else, but I do not like it myself. It's just my personal opinion though, and I won't have any final say in wheter it eventually gets allowed or not.

This is pretty funny with the recent matches considered. Is Viper being slung against his will in these grand finals? :D

+1 - Have a word with Kkab whilst you're hypothesising would you Viper? When the Grandmaster's stratagem amounts to a Viking sling game after game after game - don't be surprised when people start getting bored with buying into the equivalent concept of Real Madrid A vs Real Madrid B in the Champions League final.
The most funny thing is: people ranting against sling recently...were the ones promoting sling before the tournament, saying it's the only way to beat TyRanT.
As long as people play Vikings, sling or not, I'm okay with this playstyle. If Vik sling => feed Mongol/Hun/Persians... is the most efficient way to play AoC, why would I bother? All I see is enjoyable, ultra-high level games.
Slinging is like laming, it's controversial yet fun and with such an amount of money on the table, it will be a pain not going for the most effective play just because of politically correct thoughts "lol not the way u should play".
Holy **** are will you post the exact same **** on every topic, even though it has nothing to do with seedings in first place? So far it's 5-1 and 5-2 in a final which has been marked by extremely efficient slinging from Legends and an inconsistent level of play from Warlords. My own view is that the rules on slinging don't have anything to do with it: SY went 3-3 with Legends on the Random Map - maybe it's just that the dubious seeding and bracketing means we're not seeing the best two teams fight it out at the most important stage in this 'tournament'.
your point is money kills all, gj. Mr. Money even dont allow ppl to complain.Hasn't this been done to death already?
If people really feel the seeding hasn't been fair, one can always start a public funding campaign for say $10000 or whatever for a match between the two teams, after talking to the teams to see if they are willing to play each other.
If it works out, great. Else it would imply people just like to cry and don't put money where the mouth is.

Show me atleast one single game, one single ****ing game where the guy who sponsors/creates the tournaments isn't the one responsible for it seedings/brackets, wanna hear suprise? There is none. LoL, Dota2 - Companies which makes games provides tournaments with their own seeding > CS:GO, Hearthstone, Sponsors makes/creates tournaments with their own seedings.your point is money kills all, gj.
