This has been repeated countless times on VooblyOfficial channel by multiple casters that all the donations go to future tournaments and donations have been collected over a period of last 3-4 years. VO is also partnered and there are subscribers too. Yet its hard to find tournaments which were sponsored fully/partially supported by VO monetarily.
SMB appreciate the clarity and I must admit while you guys were running the community team, at the very least you were open and clear in your communication about your decisions.
The further is more addressed to Voobly guys rather than the old community team. These are the only 4 contributions made by Voobly in total.
MoA4 : 100$ (viewtopic.php?f=1374&t=124585)
CotH : 75$ (viewtopic.php?f=1386&t=124876)
MoA2v2 : 200$ (http://aoczone.net/viewtopic.php?f=1394&t=125183)
CL : 277$ (viewtopic.php?f=1420&t=126257)
So a grand total of 652$ have been contributed to tournaments out of the total donations & subscription money which was collected over a period of last 3-4 years. If contemporary channel donations and revenues are to go by then this way way too little.
Why should people keep contributing in the name of tournaments while clearly the money received have not been invested as said while procuring the donations?

Its ok to seek revenue for your work, nothing wrong with that. But saying all the money will be used for tournaments while almost none has been used for last 3-4 years is not fine.
Even if the VO stream revenue is used for expenses in running Voobly (cost of servers & compensating the team/owners), its fine but at least be open & clear about it. Dont take donations in the name of tournaments while not putting it out.
When Memb seeks donations for soundproofing the room, its fine. When MBL seeks donations for flying to Taiwan, its fine. Why? Because it is explicitly clear what they are seeking donations for, so while donating the person, is making a clear choice. However current VO situation is more like somebody buying the new iPhone from the money collected via charity with the intention of helping kids in Africa.
To my knowledge no tournaments were run with the money prior to the Voobly Community Team (which was in operation informally for 1 year, was formally constituted as a Voobly staff department in the second half of last year, and which effectively disbanded at the start of this year) gaining control of the funds in approximately September. From that point onwards Clash of the Hippo, Champions League, Masters of Arena 4 and Masters of Arabia 2v2 all received donations to their prize pools from VooblyOfficial's funds. All donations and the corresponding amounts were discussed and voted on by the Community Team with consideration given to sustaining the funds for the long term based on channel revenues.
Now that the Community Team has disbanded, control of VooblyOfficial has been passed to Voobly admins along with all funds. Voobly admins have been made aware that this money was collected from VooblyOfficial viewers with the promise that it would be used to fund tournaments, so the community will have to see what that translates into.
