Dear all,
during last days i found the way to avoid lag on twitch maybe some of you know, but i am going to try to explain here for all.
A source stream use about 400KB/s, that is 4Mb download connection so i think nobody should have problems nowadays.
With this method you will get non sttutering livestreams, more quality and more functionalities from twitch streams.
1) install:
VLC
http://get.videolan.org/vlc/2.1.5/win32 ... -win32.exe
and
Livestreamer
http://www.videohelp.com/download/lives ... -setup.exe
2) configuration:
you have to edit the file (for example with notepad):
%appdata%\livestreamer\livestreamerrc
How to open configuration file:
For people who doesn't know the # means commentary, that is a non working feature, so you have to be sure you have non commented the following lines (if you don't have it, add it):
player="C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" --file-caching=5000
(substitute the location of vlc for yours)
hls-segment-threads=10
hds-segment-threads=10
(those last two are the most important as they do the trick to download from differents sources)
ringbuffer-size=64M
(makes your buffer higher so if you have a sporadic fall down of speed you won't notice it until more time)
hls-live-edge=3
(this value you can change it from 1 to 10, if you continue having sttutering problems change it nearer to 10)
SAVE it!
Example how the file is for me:
3) Use:
You have to enter CMD and write, for example:
livestreamer.exe twitch.tv/vooblyofficial source
(i think you can understand what is every parameter)
To close the stream just ctrl+c on the cmd.
How does stream looks at the end:
The livestreamer has a lot of extra functions some of them i found interesan but i've never used so i can't explain you (vpn, proxies, session oauth...)
One that i use a lot is to save the stream. It is pretty usefull when i have to go out and i want to continue watching the stream later or to be able to rewind the stream or pause it without losing anything.
just add -o parameter with the path where you want to save it like this:
livestreamer.exe twitch.tv/vooblyofficial source -o "C:\theStreamFile.mp4"
Then you open it with vlc while cmd is downloading it and you can watch it.
And that is all guys i hope this is usefull for someone and that i wrote it enought clearlly for any.
To complement the stream i recommend you to use chatty to chat with people watching the stream.
