I vote for a new free dark age technology "climate change" which changes water terrain to desert terrain everywhere on the map. that should fix water play.
I was thinking about that the other day, that future DLC should add overall units rather than civs (which is more effort for me to port).Pretty self explanatory, do you think the game should add an option/s for trash water unit/s? If yes, any ideas as to the role of those units?
could get behind this if transports were a feudal age unit still. Dark age landings take away from the very point of water maps, and in some cases the game can end with water control never mattering. One thing that I would like to see is to reduce the transport ship cost. Thing costs more total resources than a fire ship and serves 1 single purpose.
Cheaper transports would lead to more landings and land aggression in water maps, which I think makes the meta more interesting to watch and play
Wouldn't the "trash" water player run out of wood faster than the "gold" water player and eventually just lose on tree count?
I wouldn't mind a re-think on water play or additional unit types, but wood is usually the decider in pure-water maps that go past 45 minutes
this reminds me of the stronghold crusader trees where the forests do grow if kept uncut, something Sultan Abdul would personally guarantee not to happen 11Just get forests to regenerate over time, considering the hundreds of years a game lasts; trees will grow back every 50 years(?) but not where buildings are placed and not to block any buildings/units production towards any tc
In dota you can see that mechanic; all destroyed trees will grow back instantly at a point in time
I can tell you from a programing point of view that's quite hard. Technically possible with the stump converting back into a tree but it would create very weird situations with woodlines regenrating and trapping villagers inside.Just get forests to regenerate over time, considering the hundreds of years a game lasts; trees will grow back every 50 years(?) but not where buildings are placed and not to block any buildings/units production towards any tc
