Hey guys!
I just found out something and wanted to share with those of you who, like me, did not know about this.
Often when I watch streams, people would say things like "he's making a tower on his own. but N's tower is on the hill, so he will surely win" etc. The idea of the hill bonus does apply to towers, so they naturally should inflict more damage to everything that is at a lower level and take less damage when attacked from downhill.
However, due to some reason, that I think has to do with towers' pearce armour, this does not really apply to tower wars. I set up a little scenario and tested damage by towers that are attacking
- on the same plane, downhill and uphill,
- with no upgrades, with fletching and with bodkin / bracer.
Here's the recording, it's just under 3 minutes.

Here are the results for a fully garrisoned watch tower:
An interesting fact is that after researching Bodkin arrow, towers shoot with 1 less arrow, so the total damage is less than with fletching. [ 5+1(4) ---> 5+2(3)]. So, technically a tower with no upgrades at the start of feudal age is better in tower wars than your caste age tower at 30 minutes in game . Also, I don't think the Bracer one would be too relevant, since in imp people tend to get ups from university, so towers are naturally stronger and have more armour.
Additionally, it's worth to mention that even though a tower can garrison 5 units, only 4 of them will shoot arrows. Thus, there is no difference if you put 5 or 4 vils in a tower to win a tower war. *Teutons can garrison up to 10 units in towers and make the total number of extra arrow +8.
However, a kind of units turns out important, as not all units fire arrows when garrisoned.
I made a few tests to see what works:

Here are the results:
* Teuton towers have extra arrows with infantry garrisoned after researching the unique tech. With 5 units you'll get extra 2 arrows and with 10 it is +5 arrows. Thanks NepThor for pointing that out!
Finally, I don't know if everyone knows this already, but just gonna throw this is in for the fun for people who don't know:
As you're aware, teuton towers can garrison up to 10 units. Additionally to the normal tower bonuses, this also means:
- with 10 hand cannoneers their bombard towers fire 2 cannon balls at once *edit: 9 is enough, thank you eleaten
- with 10 E janissaries garrisoned they fire 3(!) at once (You will need a Turk ally for this one)

How awesome is that?!
---
Tested with UP 1.4 RC, both Huns.
There are some units that I was too lazy to test with and also all this was tested with Watch towers. I got bored and didn't do it with all civs and all kinds of towers, sorry 11
Feel free to comment if I'm missing something and correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks
