Sometimes I even see pro players forget Tracking when they add infantry (Halbs, Elite Eagles, Huskies, etc.) in Imperial Age.
This isn't good, if you aren't familiar with the data well you surely don't know it doesn't only give infantry +2 LOS.
This isn't just about scouting purposes: it also gives infantry +2 Search Radius.
Even if Infantry fight in a totally visible area of the map in agressive stance, without Tracking they can stand still and idle because they wouldn't detect an enemy nearby (or target buildings instead lol), a thing that happen less often with Tracking researched.
In short, Tracking even in Imperial greatly improves infantry "enemyfinding", very useful in fights, esp dynamic ones when little by little you advance; make progress with your army closer and closer to your enemy town...and prevent 25 champions to be idle/killing houses if you are not paying attention, for raiding with Eagles because they will target villagers fleeing more easily, etc.
For 75 Food (EDIT: 50 Food in the expansions/Balance Patch) and 35s research time, it will be a waste to forget it. :!:
