That both names are almost the samen is really an accedent... I made this account already in 2013 and just returned to the game... I still know the name of TheViper from the past. Was Hera already a pro in 2013?

I don’t believe it was that long or was it? I think it was 2012 when 2500 was achieved on ‘voobly’ which happened in late 2010 or early 2011. That might’ve been 2600 too, hard to remember. Forgot when Viper and Jordan both nearly hit 2800 as well.

You have something of a point though. Maybe it is doable these days since there are a lot more players at that level (even a rank below or so) than back then.

Did you even play on voobly? Not even close to being true. I believe 2k5 1v1 was reached less than 2 years after the ladders were reset in 2013. Not that it means anything anyways lol

I was referring to RM - 1v1 (2012~), iirc 2k5 was attained around 2017. What you mentioned should be RM - General (2007-2012) which 1v1 and TGs did not have separate ladders, and it still took them like 4 years.

There are less than 100k players on Vooblys 1v1 ladder over 8 years, on the other hand there are 40k (somewhat) ACTIVE 1v1 players on DE. (Inactive players will be removed from the ladder)

So I believe someone will reach 2k7 in a few more months due to the way bigger playerbase.

i have a screenshot of the ladder dated september 2014, <2 years after the ladder reset where the highest rated player was 2453. The coming months after that screenshot was taken was one of the most competitively active times in voobly's history with WiC taking place, so the ratings would only go higher after that.

Elo algorithm works different on voobly than on DE. Also ELOs always means something different over time, so saying you were 2.2.k on 2014 is something totally different from being 2.2k on 2019. Think for example, every 2.2k TG players that starts playing 1v1 adds like 600 inflation point to the system.Viper was 2.3k around May so probably he may be 2.7k on 6 months. The only way to meassure ELO inflation is to see Viper's ELO playing seriously over time, it's like our Big Mac Index

After the reset, Flu is right about the rating, it rings a huge bell. But I think nearly 2500 goes back to 2013. I don’t remember exact date, but somewhere around in this year slam and Hasan were both in top 5 above 2400 and I said something quite memorable to them that eventually happened.

5 years might be a bit exaggerated, but it still took them like 3~4 years.

There was some inflation in the last year or so on Voobly where half the top 10 was 2500 while before only the top 1 could, in rare occasions, reach that rating (and your list shows how the frequency increased).

That's what allowed players to get 2k6 and later even 2k7. This may happen on DE as well provided there are enough people at high ratings playing each other.

Viper has a title, its The Viper 11. who cares about other titles when everyone knows you are n1.

-Due to FP issue, some players might have only played with others from nearby region.

With DEs matchmaking system, there arent fragmented mini ladders anymore.

It feels like rating lost/gained vs disparate opponents seems more forgiving than on voobly -- am I off on this?

I remember swinging 20-30 points if I swung up hard and beat someone 40 elo above, etc. In DE, deosn't seem to be like that at all.
