We have reached altruism levels that shouldnt even be possible thanks to NAC3. So here it comes:
1) The purpose of a tournament is to increase a channel's/organisation's/unique event's viewer numbers, popularity and media exposure. Generating profit is directly or indirectly the primary objective.
2) This is indeed a business. There is nothing wrong with with Nili implementing a business model in order to gain more followers/viewers or conquer market shares. There is nothing wrong with Nili and T90 announcing and promoting their upcoming tournaments or collaborating in order to gain more popularity and media exposure.
3) Age of empires tournaments are not altruistic charity. Organizers try to take into consideration the best move for community's interests but that is never the primary objective. The purpose of a tournament is listed above. Stop talking about »the greater good» or »the best for the community». Every single tournament is privately funded and the organizers, in accordance with funders requests, decides every single detail. The organizers usually are open to suggestions but no one cares about some random guys loud demands. Your favorite streamer will not be invited, even if you continue crying about it after the tournament has ended.
4) Mentioning a caster's/player's heroic sacrifices for the »community» is not a valid argument every time they are not included in an event or tournament; not even mentioning that it may or may not be an actual sacrifice, it certainly is not a sacrifice to be a twitch streamer who earns much more than a top pro player. It is okay to be selfish so stop expecting people to self-sacrifice.
