so I finally got the game working today. I started a standard coastal 3 player size map, 75 pop (by accident). standard difficulty. 3-way FFA
Whole time I was playing, I knew about the increased difficulty - I assumed I was playing on moderate, based on how sophisticated the AI seemed. It's hard to believe a standard AI was sophisticated enough to hold a candle to me. I was the bottom of leading score the entire game (though not by much)
AI was slow, but considering this was the first game I played in months, as well as numerous other handicaps in computers favor it was good enough to challenge me. Also kept getting owned by hotkeys, b+e or b+f or b+s, all changed to b+a. I suppose it makes sense, but I memorized all this a year ago.
Got grushed - quit after I realized pop limit - Ill still finish the game tho lol
I think you guys need to tone down the difficulty actually. Your standard AI played exactly what I would have expected from an improved moderate aI. Which begs the question, is there a slightly easier one? Standard should be for campaign players getting introduced to RM, not seasoned RM players.
