I would like to represent the Taiwan A team to provide our perspective on the incident that occurred during the first game between Taiwan A vs Mexico A in the Nations cup.
After rewatching multiple times with other top players, we still believe that we had the advantage before Kingstone’s drop. However, per the situation, we cannot draw the conclusion that Taiwan would have won the game, therefore, we understand and accept the admin’s decision to have a re-match. However, we must ask whether it was really fair for us to have a rematch, whilst the other team has no penalty for dropping, whether that be on purpose or not. Looking closely at this case, I believe we can all agree that the re-match won’t be the same as the prepared strategy was revealed, the morale has changed, and it gets even more late in Taiwan
Our players continue to take this tournament seriously as we prepare for every upcoming match. As this match was a very critical one for the Taiwan team to stay in the Gold League, we had an emotional night where tensions rose. We sincerely apologize for the irrational and emotional words that came from our viewers and supporters. We hope that this unfortunate incident will not occur to other teams. We would like to propose that the rules are analysed and potentially changed for future events, so that the team who did nothing wrong are not unjustly punished due to the unfortunate circumstance of someone dropping and a restore being impossible. This being said, we also recognise that Kingstone did not drop on purpose and that not having a restore is a fault of DE and not the players involved.
