T90 leaves Twitch, moves into FB Gaming

So that was the announcement today. Its a very big new with powerful implications both for aoe2 community and specially the content creators like me.

There's some reminders of TheVipers journey on Mixer, but this looks more serious as FB Gaming is targetting the Top1 aoe2 Channel on Twitch just before the Aoe4 release.

With the way Zuckerberg is handling the company showing no regard for user privacy or protecting those who are affected, crisis after crisis will keep emerging and FB stocks will keep falling. Investors have already started pulling off after the WSJ leak.

So don't worry, he will be back to Twitch soon!

I don't think I will ever visit him save for maybe the finals of his next tournaments (if he has exclusive casting like with Hidden Cup), since I hate everything that is in any way related to Facebook, but this was clearly a financial decision that maybe has just set him for life so I'm happy for him.

From the looks of it they gave (no doubt less generous) offers to many other, smaller streamers too, so seems like a wider effort

I'm not disappointed he is leaving for Facebook. He can do what he wants. I am disappointed that during the Viper mixer timeline he said that he isn't leaving twitch because he loves the community he built too much just to leave for money. Now that he is more popular than ever, he is leaving his community for money. Promising loyalty to your community and then leaving for money shortly thereafter is a low move.

It's like the superstar on your favorite team saying he won't leave cause he loves his fans and the team too much but then leaves the team next year for a better contract. If the superstar never promised any loyalty, then you couldn't fault him for leaving cause that's just a business move. However, because the player created expectations to everyone then people feel pretty disappointed and used when the player leaves.

I think a lot of casual people that remember age from their childhood will discover T90 there.
But I think for the majority of aoe people that don't use facebook T90 alone is not a reason to get a facebook account.

It's not a relationship. It's called character. People judge others by it.

It's one thing to have unrealistic expectations that players, sports stars, streamers should have unconditional loyalty to you just because they are your favorite. It's another thing when they say it right from their mouths that they will be loyal to you and throw shade at others for leaving.

Well, we don't know any details about this decision, but I'm fairly skeptical that Facebook will be the future of the game streaming. Facebook is not so good brand among the younger generations, which are the main gaming audience.

Yeah, I agree with you there. I'm just saying not to keep expectations too high even if they say things like community building / growing the game etc.
