One more suggestion: increase deer distance on ara by ~2-3 tiles.
On the xbow upgrade thing, it is not only to reduce fcing tendencies but also to discourage the redundant play style of massing xbow virtually everygame that is developing these days- it would be better if we can have more variety in general playstyle- a small change will only do good in this aspect.
Keep in mind deer being closer is an advantage to fcing rather than feudal pushing. Getting a few hundred surplus of food safely is what the fcer needs to be safe. I know walling has taken some penalty now, but once you reach castleage, the stonewall is back to 1800 hp, house to 900 etc.
