Just to clarify, I streamed that series because my Australian friends were playing, and asked me to stream it ~6 hours prior to the match, when no streamer was confirmed. I didn't see the possibility of the games being streamed (because let's face it, us Aussies aren't great at AOC), so I streamed them."The German" isn't even an admin in this event. Go and find another topic to stir drama.
Well what he said is true, so maybe you should review what you said in your previous post.
And this isn't just about Memb, it's about all streamers. Do you have a problem that Helene (Voobly Official mod) is casting games on her own channel (raking in revenue for herself) when she could be doing it on Voobly Official?

Furthermore, there was no 'revenue' to speak of. I don't stream for money, never have, never will. It's just a hobby, and if it makes my friends happy that I streamed their games, then I'll continue to do so (within the rules). No need to twist it into something sinister.
Spec feature causes more problems than it's worth. To prevent spinning this topic to something else though, if we could get the 50-100 people specing I saw in the Tourney lobby this morning to watch streams instead, this is at least a minor income boost. (stop letting people spec tourney games)you can spectate almost all the games of this tournament in the lobby of Voobly
@CJ92: The only one who's demanding anything here is you. We have our policies and they are in place for the reasons I've stated above. You on the other hand want to see volunteers to keep Voobly running (game moderation/tech support), create art works/videos, organise tournaments, run the tournaments (dozens and dozens hours of work btw) and then invite for-profit streamers to rake in the revenue for themselves.

Yeah, no problem... Didn't get the tongue in cheek part over the internet O.O. I have, however resigned from the streaming team, but will be continuing to contribute as a community team member (tournament admin/communication with Chinese side etc.).Just to clarify, I streamed that series because my Australian friends were playing, and asked me to stream it ~6 hours prior to the match, when no streamer was confirmed. Sorry, that was intended to be tongue in cheek.
I think Genette is 100% right.
How can Memb (and others before him) be so stubborn and not stream a single game even though there are so many possibilities to stream games. Maybe VO should extend the time from 6hours to 24hours but except from that rule I think VO is doing the right thing.
I think the streamers of VO are motivated when they have the possibility to stream big games like final and semifinal. This will continue to attract and motivate ppl to stream for VO. But if you allow everybody to stream every game, there will be even less people streaming and AOC will suffer. Everybody will just stream the same game, what is just a waste of time and is splitting the community.
I think everybody who wants to allow everybody to stream every game is thinking too much in the short term
is a contradiction in itself
This is the same topic that just gets recycled over and over again by the same people. Of course everyone has a right to state their own view and i respect that completely. But i would like to state some things that some people have claimed that are untrue
There is the current issue that these games arent being covered and whilst i can sympathise with some people that want to see the games are being covered you have to understand that all of the stream team members have their own lives. Currently i am working practically 7 days a week at all hours so i have unfortunately been able to participate in casting and for that I am sorry .But back to the point at hand we all have busy lives and the timing of this tourney being in the summer i think has contributed to this significantly!
The question of money has constantly been circulated around and at the team we all volunteer to the stream team and i am proud of the effort the entire team has put in especially those who have just left (Helene who i couldn't respect anymore than i could). We put in any money generated from adverts or donations into the pot and i can say there is a plan to use that in the near future so to those who have contributed it hasn't gone to waste!!!
I hope people understand my disappearance as of late but please refrain from making silly statements that there is some anti memb agenda behind the streaming of Clan Masters TFS

Why do we need a strictly volunteer / no personal profit model ? If we want to demand our streamers put on a professional show, stream tons of matches, commit lots of time, then there's no harm in them generating some revenue to support themselves.
On the other hand we can have the casual streamer who doesn't have the same commitment. Once the audience is big enough to justify it, you need to move past this and have more professional casters imo.
Anyway, I can see both sides of the argument. I hope you would reconsider and try it out for 1 tournament at least and then judge by the results.
Tell me one professional caster in AoC please.
Sifly - I know you and Bullet and many others who formerly frequented Memb's channel are butthurt for some reason, but please don't bother posting unless you're actually going to contribute something useful like others have done so far.
