I enjoy watching aoe online (although I don’t play a lot) and am wondering if it’s possible to sponsor a tournament as a way to give back. I would look to put up $1000-1500 although someone else would have to organize it.

Lan not quite what I was thinking but I’ll keep it in mind lol!!!I can organize a lan at my place if you like
I think you best reach out to one of the casters itself. Besides the big 3( memb, nili and t90) there are a lot of players casting like viper or Hera who also host tournaments. And there are also a lot of smaller casters who host great tournaments like lidakor, John slow, ornlu or Dracken.
Jeg kommer.I can organize a lan at my place if you like
On a serious note, we could combine a prize pool (I have a guy who can potentially pitch in with a few 1000 for a TG 3v3 or 4v4 arabia tournament or something, and we are willing to put in the time and effort to organize it.)I enjoy watching aoe online (although I don’t play a lot) and am wondering if it’s possible to sponsor a tournament as a way to give back. Same style as Drunken Forest format, which was a huge success: https://www.aoezone.net/threads/drunken-forest-a-3-150-tg-tourney.172248/
(would be open for other suggestions too.)
Combined with the donos, I wouldn't be surprised if we could reach a really big prize pool this time.
PM If you are interested.
I got several DMs and will be responding. Just for more detail, I personally enjoy 2v2s and 3v3s on the more classic maps. As far as organization like format, prize distribution, etc that’s up to people with more experience than me. It seems people have a lot of good ideas for tournaments but that funds for a prize pool can be a barrier. That makes a really good price pool. Would love a 3v3 or 4v4 tournament (not a fan of 1 map tournament, TbH, but still drunken forest was quite fun)

Maybe an “up and comers” tournament?with that budget you probably have 2 options:
Promote a small showmatch between very good players (even though for them it's just a 'small' showmatch) In this case the easiest is to contact a big streamer.
Promote a bigger tournament for not so big players, example, Superleague (over 250 players up to 2k2~ rating), maybe even give a little bit to different tournaments of this kind. In this case you want to contact a tournament admin, such as @Huehuecoyotl22 or others.
You might want to give some hints in what kind of tourney/event you want to promote.
Drunken forest was a great initiative and I would confide in Kellar and co for another torunament with similar setting

I thought about the show match, but rhet seem to be over pretty quickly while a tournament seems to more fun for people to watch.with that budget you probably have 2 options:

I can PM you our discord if you are interested in setting something up and we can talk about it soon. My other sponsor is hyped for this as well.I really liked that format tbh
I also think it would be good to know what Memb is planning, but that will be completely out of the range of a $1500 tournament, so it does not matter too much if it overlaps by a week or 2. However, I don't think Memb will have a TG tournament starting while Two Pools 2 is running. If I may suggest, we have a massive 1v1 tournament going on, and a pretty nice 2v2 tournament coming soon. On top of that Memb is going to announce a few events in the near future. If you're not in a hurry, I would advise two things - First, start thinking about something that's not currently on the table (3v3s would be my call), and secondly, wait until Memb's announcement, in order not to go for the same type of tournament, while at the same time trying to get in touch with other people that are willing to pitch in to a potential prizepool, and with a potential admin(s) and/or organiser(s) (from this point of view Kellar's suggestion sounds pretty good).
I wasn't thinking so much about overlapping with Memb (it's an issue, for sure, but not the main issue IMO) as much as matching tournament types. If Memb were to come up with a 3v3 tournament it would be impractical, in my opinion, to try and organise another 3v3 tournament with a smaller prizepool. That's why I suggest sounding out organisers and other people who may be thinking of contributing and waiting a bit longer before announcing anything. It's not my call at all, though!I also think it would be good to know what Memb is planning, but that will be completely out of the range of a $1500 tournament, so it does not matter too much if it overlaps by a week or 2. However, I don't think Memb will have a TG tournament starting while Two Pools 2 is running.
This tournament will also be after Hidden Cup, so that does not matter.
Then there are Two Pools 2 and the Good Old Times Cup, as well as the last stage of the European Rumble. So those are to consider.
For 1v1 there are always many options and tournaments and players will differ strongly.
If it aims at the same players who participate in TP2, it should rather not be 2v2. Some of them I can imagine playing in a $1500 2v2 tournament.
