While this sounds like a great idea, before requesting yet another amazing feature from the UserPatch team...let us first be sure to include all of the amazing work performed to date. By far one of the greatest accomplishments of UserPatch is its networking improvement (SIGNIFICANTLY reduces lag and action delay in all games). Unfortunately, due to issues with 5-10% of players, the networking enhancements had to be 'toggled off' by Voobly to avoid serious issues. I of course completely agree with the decision to 'toggle off' for the time being; however, the community should now turn its attention to isolating the issue and rolling out this massive improvement.
Here is what we know so far... These same 5-10% players are unaffected when using UserPatch on Gameranger and DirectIP. So, it is not the UP networking interacting with the player's router that is the issue...but rather it has something to do with how the UP improvements interact with (a) certain routers on (b) voobly networking. That said, I would ask those who had these issues to post detailed specs on their networking setups. I would also implore Elusive and voobly team to investigate on their end where the 'snag' might be.
The UserPatch team spent A LOT of time working on networking optimizations. In recognition of the Userpatch team's hard work and countless hours spent researching this… it is our responsibility to not let this amazing improvement go to waste!
