Hello guys (and girls :P)!
First of all a little preview:
I have a discussion on other forum about AOC and it's place in cyber life. I'm a new player in AOC: I've started playing in ~2008, so I don't know a lot about the past.
So AOE2 was played on WCG 2000, 2001 and 2002. And in 2003 it gave the baton to AOM. But seems like it sucks to much, and in 2004-2006 we don't have AOE in WCG at all. 2007-2008 are years of AOE3. Not to long really. And 2009-nowadays AOE is dead as cybersport game. Why it happen? If we'd see on SC, it's played from 2000 to 2010 (11 years!!) and from 2011 SC2 goes on the front side.
Who makes it happen? Guy, who I speak with says what Blizzard doesn't take part in cyber side of SC. So did investors find SC more attractive?
How popular AOC was? As compared with SC? How many players was on MSN Zone?
As I know it was closed in ~2007? Somebody said what it was only 1000 online, as now on voobly. Is it true?
