Hey folks! Long-time lurker here, big fan of the game. Sorry that my first post has to be yet another "random tweaks discussion." But here we go.
Burmese
The other day on Nicov's stream, I asked him and HyunaOP if there were any good ways to address the Burmese weakness to archers without making Arambai too OP. I think it's generally recognized that Arambai are at a fine power level and should not be made much better, but Burmese are really weak to the standard meta play of archers. The main idea that was settled on was this one:
Byzantines
I think most people agree that Byzantines are at a good power level right now, and many people would say they are underrated. They have an awesome tech tree and interesting bonuses, mainly falling short due to lack of early eco bonuses and "power units."
However, I think it's a bit of a shame that Cataphracts are rarely seen. As Liereyy noted during his Empire Wars series against TaToH, Cataphracts are rarely seen in elite 1v1 and not much of a winning play because they are so expensive. They are also more vulnerable to the standard units (Knights, Archers) due to lower HP and pierce armor. I think this is good from a balance perspective, but would suggest this tweak:
A bit crazier of an idea:
Portuguese
I feel like the Organ Gun is in a bit of a weird place right now. It's supposed to have a big area of effect attack, but in actuality this is not felt very much. I think it'd create some more interesting and sharp gameplay if this were enhanced:
One thing, though, is that this tweak would make Organ Guns weaker to their main counter - other siege units. Indeed, I think it would make the Organ Guns a good bit weaker to Mangos in particular, because Mangos are usually not put in large groups - so a single Organ gun shot will do a lot less damage to a Mango, and the increased projectile spread would not do much to boost this. You'd probably need to test to confirm this, though.
Anyways, thanks for reading through this post. Hoping for some interesting discussion.

I think it's generally recognized that Arambai are at a fine power level and should not be made much better, but Burmese are really weak to the standard meta play of archers. The main idea that was settled on was this one:
- Burmese get Leather Archer Armor (second upgrade)
- Remove 1 pierce armor from Arambai (Normal baseline 0/0, Elite baseline 0/1)
Byzantines

- +0/+1 pierce armor for Cataphracts
- -5 gold cost (to baseline 70 food / 70 gold)
A bit crazier of an idea:
- Logistica affects Paladins
Portuguese
I feel like the Organ Gun is in a bit of a weird place right now. It's supposed to have a big area of effect attack, but in actuality this is not felt very much. I think it'd create some more interesting and sharp gameplay if this were enhanced:
- +10 gold cost (to base of 80 wood / 70 gold, reduced to 80/59 by civ bonus)
- -6 main projectile attack (to 10 normal / 14 elite base damage)
- Increase secondary projectile attack from 2 to 5 (should be more effective against big masses of units attacking them. A lot of these don't hit anyways because of accuracy, but the impact should be a lot more noticeable).
- Remove +1 attack versus Rams
One thing, though, is that this tweak would make Organ Guns weaker to their main counter - other siege units. Indeed, I think it would make the Organ Guns a good bit weaker to Mangos in particular, because Mangos are usually not put in large groups - so a single Organ gun shot will do a lot less damage to a Mango, and the increased projectile spread would not do much to boost this.
