This topic might be a bit late since the ara 2v2 tournament is starting very soon but I wanted to adress this since I feel like a lot of players want to see the settings adjusted slightly. So as it stands slinging is banned to imp entirely. I understand that the organisers want to prevent slinging games in which the viking player walls and the mayan players kills everyone with a big sling. I totally accept this opinion. Having said that, banning sending any resources at all till imperial age seems a little bit premature to me. Sending resources is in my opinion a crucial part of team play. Sending some stone to defend a castle to complete your elite UU upgrade or sending gold when your ally is pushed of gold adds a lot more options for team play allowing teams to beat stronger teams by playing together better. Having said all this I want to suggest a few alternatives:
1. banning coinage and banking to imperial age. This nerves slinging a lot but still allows the players to send resources or even try a sling in some situations like vikings mayans but it is unclear whether it should pay off.
2. Set a limit of how many resources each player can send to castle age/imperial age. I would suggest a limit of ~500 resources before imperial age but the exact amount is obviously arguable. The responsibility of remembering the amount you have send is obviously for the players.
If you have any other suggestions feel free to post them.
To conclude I want to mention one last note: I am very grateful for the work the organisers have put into this tournament and look forward to play in it. I dont want a bashing thread like we have seen in masters of arena and if the organisers decide to go though with the rules as they are I would totally accept it. I hope this applies to everyone who responds to the thread and we have a nice well argued discussion. <3
