That doesn't make this specific poll bad.Someone count pls how many polls were created today !
Dziam agreed to the rules when he signed up. He signed up using a nickname other than he was known as, he allowed Edie to think he was someone other than he is known as, and he played the game as someone other than he is known as.
There is no room for debate on the fact that he broke the rule, as it is a simple fact - the debate should be over whether Edie received an AW or whether they replay the matches. IMO, a replay, with Edie being able to prepare strategies and pick maps versus Dziam, not some 18xx BF player, is the correct decision.
#04. a) Smurfing and account sharing is not allowed. Any discovery of the mentioned will be severely punished.
What is SMURF? SMURF is "Experienced gamer posing as a newbie" (http://www.internetslang.com/SMURF-mean ... nition.asp) By this definition Marillon didn't smurf, he obviously didn't pose as a newbie.
2. smurf A (usually) experienced gamer posing as a newbie under an alternate name. (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=smurf) By this definition he didn't smurf, he didn't pose as a newbie.
1. To encounter another without revealing one's true identity.
2. (sports): The act of lying and making a person believe they have an advantage over you, and then revealing your true potential or identity, often benefiting oneself. (http://www.allwords.com/word-smurf.html) By these definitions, mainly by the 1., he did indeed smurf.

sure he agreed, by default. but it wasnt specified what 'smurfing' was until after, then they change meaning of smurf to fit their want. dziam was just playing- he didnt think he was even smurfing. come on get real!
They already said that in the future they will make the rule more clear, so there is no reason to be concerned about a slippery slope.sure he agreed, by default. but it wasnt specified what 'smurfing' was until after, then they change meaning of smurf to fit their want. dziam was just playing- he didnt think he was even smurfing. come on get real!
He might not have seen how he got an advantage out of it - especially as he is genuinely at that level now, and is not just pretending.
But in a twenty thousand dollar + tournament, you have to be thorough and rigorous. Think of it this way - what if other very high level players return and don't tell anyone of their real identities - whilst Dziam didn't train up to his previous standard, what is preventing other older experts from doing so? They have to draw a line here, else they are opening themselves up to potentially severe future problems, where people will be able to gain a significant advantage. And for this much money, they surely would do so.
All that he had to do when he signed up was mention that he is this player using a new nickname. Even if it wasn't in the rules, it would have been simple courtesy to edie to let him know who he was really playing against before they played the games. As edie said, he was disappointed when he thought he had lost to an 18xx BF player, and not to Dziam.
LOL thats not the point! the point is the rule didnt apply until they made it apply. and it is so biased of opinion, its viper decision and 4 ppl agree to it. there is no logical person on the admin "panel" that has the balls to tell viper hes wrong.
this IS wrong.
If you believe the rules were vague, you should have said so then - they've been available for a while. Way to go with starting ranting afterwards, when a decision has already been made.
Because that's what we are fighting about, right? Everyone do agree that Marillion acted poorly, in such a manner that he in fact deserves to be DQ?

Even flipping a coin to see who qualifies is better than this decision. :Ddo you think i would be going so ham if i thougt otherwise?
lol dziam deserves the win, edie out.
but a re is better than this terrible decision.
