Rumble Series - World Rumble Edition

Hello everyone,

Following the European Rumble that took place in February 2021, I am now excited to announce the World Rumble. This is the second step of a project that I named the Rumble Series and that I intend to make recurring.

The Rumble Series are designed for talented players who have yet to reach the elite circle of S-tier players. Indeed, while more and more major tournaments are organised, I believe the aoe2 scene still lacks events dedicated to 2k2+ players with attractive prize pool. This kind of tournament is healthy for the competitive scene and the game. It motivates the players to practice and improve to the next level, thus reducing the gap with top players. This is why I organised the European Rumble, which was restricted to European players below 2400 ELO and featured a $4500 prize pool.


The Rumble Series also tries to provide equal opportunities through its format. Because the group stage is played in a round robin on a set of unique maps, the tournament rewards practice over skills and allows any player to shine regardless of its seeding. During the European Rumble, this resulted in unexpected upsets as Cl3m3nT (#23) topped his group and MarineLorD (#17) made it to the finals over Sitaux (#1) and Kasva (#8). The tournament was very refreshing as I discovered new players with different gameplays, and therefore I decided to reiterate the experience.


The World Rumble features a $5500 prize pool sponsored by Microsoft and is dedicated to 2k2+ players who were not invited to KotD4.

I would also like to take this opportunity to officially invite Vodka to participate in the group phases. As the winner of the European Rumble, I want to invite him. Of course, it's up to him to accept or not.

Sign-ups are open until February 4 at 19 UTC.

Players will be seeded using a combination of current 1v1 ELO (1/4), highest 1v1 ELO (1/4) and tournament ELO (1/2).

The tournament is organised on Discord and is open streaming, except for France where OGN keeps the exclusivity.
