I was procrastinating from study today and i noticed some interesting things about the 1v1 RM ladder.
Firstly, there are A LOT of players that signup to voobly, play a few games, lose them all, and then stop playing. Because of this, there are 15,000 accounts within the 1500-1600 rating range. 15,000!! Of a total 29200 accounts on the ladder. That's half of all players on the ladder.
Other things i noticed:
- a 1600 rating is better than 70% of accounts on the 1v1 rm ladder. Suddenly a rating of 1600 seems quite good.
- a rating of 1700 is better than 90% of accounts. in other words, a 1700 rated player is in the top 10% of players.
- an 1800 rating puts you in the top 4%
- a 1900 rating is top 1.7%
- and anyone above 2k is in the top 0.36%. In other words, for every player above 2k, there are 277 players below 2k.
