UserPatch v1.4 RC has been updated (20131219-000000)! This update provides players with the ability to use both the 2 second patrol delay and the v1.0c 10 second patrol delay at any time. In addition, there are several other core bug fixes and other optimizations. The rec version has been updated from 9.B to 9.C. This version of v1.4 can open all v1.4 recs (9.C, 9.B, 9.A), v1.3 recs (9.9), and v1.0c recs (9.4). For AIs, the up-set-target-point action will now automatically shift the point inside the map boundaries if necessary. If you need the converted point, you can use (up-get-point position-point gl-point) afterward.
The patrol procedure is exactly the same, except for one added option:
1. select military units (same)
2. click the Patrol button or press your Patrol hotkey, like Z (same)
3. optionally Shift+click to set waypoints for your patrol (same)
4. click to set the patrol destination point on the map (now 2 choices):
- click the point for your standard delay (default 2s, same)
- Ctrl+click the point for your alternate delay (default 10s, new)
With the "Original patrol default" checkbox option on the installer, you can swap the 2s/10s to 10s/2s if you're more comfortable with the 10s delay as the default. In this way, you never really need to concern yourself with the other delay, unless you find a situation where you think it might be useful (an ambush attack on passing enemy units might be better with the 2s delay, while attacking with galleons in a thin river is often better with the 10s delay).
You can play with the delay that is most comfortable for you and have the alternate delay available with Ctrl+click at any time (or ignore it entirely). As mentioned previously, other than the delay, there are no other differences with patrol. Since both delays are available to all players at all times, you can play together regardless of whether you prefer 2s/10s or 10s/2s for standard/alternate.
This version is not available on Voobly yet, due to the TEL tournament that is about to start.
