Or am I reading too much into the explicit "Heidelberg" text in the video?!
Sign-Ups for the qualifiers are open btw: https://smash.gg/tournament/red-bull-wololo-v/events
I partially agree. But if there is no audience and only 5-8 players, it's not too different from last time where 2 casters and Studio crew already were at one place. If it's with lots of viewers, that would be questionable.Yeah, it would seem a bit tone deaf given the state of the world currently.

What I really wonder though, is whether Vietnamese, Canadians, Brazilians, Argentinians, etc. even could come. For JorDan or TaToH it would be relatively easy, but without even giving ACCM, Hera and more a chance to come, a LAN would be quite strange, as with Yo already listed it's no RBW Euro.
Ye but with that attitude you will never be able to go to any event ever again.Doesn't matter. Any sort of event is going to incorporate production and support as well. Then you're talking about the logistics of having international players both coordinate on-site with varying levels of pre-arrival, on-site and pre-departure screenings.
Seems completely unnecessary, especially as cases of variants that impact even those previously immunized surge.
I'm not a doctor, but would seem to be pretty stupid.
If I was a player from Vietnam or China I would think twice about going to Europe right now because it's a lot safer there (at least as far as I know) but it's cool that we get another lan event because NAC was always my favorite series.
Would indeed be good to know, because I am sure they know if they announce that Yo is there. I assume it is not a tourist visa, maybe some sort of business visa?Just heard few weeks ago that Chinese citizens still do not get a (tourist) visa for Germany. They are only allowed in if they are in posession of a permanent residence permit.
In case that did not change I wonder how Yo should come here.
They already had production crew to be there for RBW 4 + 2 casters. The rapid rise of delta variant needs to be considered but there have been sporting events with way more people involved. If almost everyone is vaccinated, maybe its not a big issue.Doesn't matter. Any sort of event is going to incorporate production and support as well. Also, for certain folks - some on visa (say an American on a non-business visa in Vietnam,) would not be able to travel back into country.

It's a game that is played over the internet, after all.
LAN is preferable to online in an esports setting for several reasons and the value add is more than "very little" but I agree it is still not worth dealing with the hassles of international travel during a pandemic.Doesn't matter. Its not responsible. Its necessary for the CCPs survival to blame everything on foreign influence. Thats why its impossible to base decisions about a LAN on the current regulations in china because they are outrageous.Honestly its even more difficult to go back to China than to leave China, given how serious the Chinese government is against "imported cases". This is a responsible move though.
How covid increases might not have time to host the LAN when end of august we are back at 100 ishThey already had production crew to be there for RBW 4 + 2 casters. Shouldn't it be at 3rd-5th September? How covid increases might not have time to host the LAN when end of august we are back at 100 ish
