I did reach out via mod-mail. That correspondence was ignored. I figured it was monitored by multiple people and multiple attempts could get me banned, so I reached out to you via discord. Really appreciated the feedback that you shared. I understand and respect that reddit mods can also be victims of a poorly designed system. Thank you for clarifying that on an individual level, my posting broke no rules. It really meant a lot to me.I'm disappointed about this bro. I was going through a difficult time when you and I were DMing, and I took the time to have a detailed discussion with you about this.
This is despite the fact that you did not reach out via modmail, but reached out to me on my personal Discord account.
I guess moderators following their own rules makes us corrupt, huh?
I'm sorry that the ambiguity of the rule makes it sometimes harder for users to know what they can or cannot do. I am also sorry that sometimes it it is inconvenient.
But guess what, it is the same for moderators! I often agonize over the smallest action I take, because I want to make sure I am being fair.
But yeah we have a rule that says we can't have the front page full of memes. I told you to repost later, in short.
I guess that makes me corrupt.
To be clear, I'm not accusing you of corruption -- to the contrary, the fact that you took the time to do a some digging and help me understand why my post was deleted was very helpful, and as far as I'm concerned you're worthy of the reddit mod title. When I said that I find the concept of "the reddit mods are corrupt" to be credible, I specifically exempted "the one honorable one who I won't name" -- that was you. However, the system is clearly poorly designed. Deleting a meme post to prevent a front page full of memes is like the police pulling over a red car because there are too many red cars on the highway. In my original post I outlined three steps for how we can overhaul the current system, so that moderators such as yourself can thrive outside the mire of drama (or at least experience less of it). Thank you for helping me out in the past, and I hope that you'll be a part of the reformed system.
