Hi All,
I have some questions about a fairly standard dark age build order and about a fast castle build order. I've found this is a common theme across many sites that list build orders and nobody ever seems to address these finer points.
Look at this build order.
1. Food (sheep)
2. Food (sheep)
3. Food (sheep)
4. Food (sheep)
5. Food (sheep)
6. Food (sheep)
7. Wood (Lumbercamp)
8. Wood
9. Wood
10. Lure boar
11. Food (mill then berries)
12. Food (berries)
13. Food (berries)
14. Lure boar
15. Food (berries)
16. Wood
17. Wood
18. Food (farm with a weak villager)
19. Food (farm with a weak villager)
20. Food (sheep)
21. Food (sheep)
I can follow it until villager 18 and 19 where it says "Food (farm with a weak villager)".
If I read correctly 18 and 19 are not newly created villagers but instead they are the re-assignment of existing villagers, specifically the two that lured the boars. Villagers 20 and 21 go onto food to plug the gap left by the fact that 18 and 19 are now farming. That makes sense.
If 18 and 19 are not newly created villagers, you're actually two villagers short of the 21 total. I clearly need to create two more villagers. What should I assign them to?
=======
The second query I have applies to both the standard feudal build, and the fast castle.
What should the sheep, boar and berry villagers that were created in the dark age be reassigned to once they have finished all the food?
I'd like to know how should I reallocate them for:
1. archer flush
2. scout rush
3. fast castle (bearing in mind you'll also be creating a villager or two in the feudal age as well).
Nobody ever seems to say how many villagers you should have on each of the four resources once you've clicked the feudal button. That's the bit that most build orders leave out. I'm fine creating villagers and assigning them to do things, but once the food has been gathered how can I be sure that I'm not putting too many on wood or farming etc?
