lol no, its not superior for a long time. not just sponsors - evryone wants continuity cuz all the events were memorable and fun ( did u watch them? )What do you mean try? Standard RM is superior in every single way. I don't think even your most hardened, brown-nosing MS supporters will say that EW is superior. You'll probably get some vague "sponsor wants continuity," "one-time event," brushing off if you press anyone hard. At best you'll get "uh yeah so excited for this different game mode."
RBW1: amazing final, Yo winning his firsts S-tier tournament with aggro and disrespec starts beating Viper and ending his dinasty, many memes were made about that
RBW2: Liery's first S-tier win after being 2nd forever
RBW3: prolly the best tournament final we had since DE, Daut winning Liery against all odds. Also Vilese randomly claping Viper without too much efort was a great set.
RBW4: dont rememeber much from this one
RBW5: Viper showing that hes not fully washed up and saving his dinasty. Mbl eliminating Hera was also great set.
RBW: Legacy - Tatoh's first S-tier win (?) and his greatest performance ever, beating both Liery and Hera on arabia was insane.
There is no balance and will never be, not with 50 civs. It looks balanced on surface cuz of civ draft - you get OP civs vs OP civsIt is the most played, most popular, most watched version of the game -- and it's not even close.
All balance is nearly universally centered around standard RM. The fans don't like EW or are ambivalent and at best tolerate it during RBW as something different, but certainly not superior (they certainly don't play it after it ends.) The players don't even like EW.
As does ur opponent so it balance out, lumber place never decided game anyway. Yeah some maps are ****, but is true for RM aswell cuz same persons make **** maps for all modes.EW you auto-start with weirdly placed lumber camps, mills, et al -- leading to inherent unfairness outside of a players control. Some of the maps are also absolutely stupid -- berry central map leading to Franks/Portuguese auto-wins over any other civ. Based on the placement of auto-generated villagers, they may have to walk much further to get them than your opponent does to kickstart the yolo-forward-boring-3-4 archer war-into-gg.
Its not just about time - the idea is to not give players 10 mins tu turn their base into arena every game, its refreshing to watch when there is actual gameplay in feudal age.The bemoaning of Dark Age is nonesense, especially when the only argument for removing it is a miniscule amount of time -- which if you are hosting a tournament with a $150K prize pool and a smaller amount of participants -- should not be a factor at all. The cumulative difference in game time is a footnote. In the past lazy casters contributed to this nonsense notion that being unable to talk about civs and maps repeatedly because they personally are bored of doing it over and over again meant the audience didn't as well -- but that's simply not the case. The additional couple of minutes of buildup offer many opportunities for discussing the map, civs, and even porting advertisements on behalf of sponsors. Most people come in/out of streams, and/or watch vods over multiple days. To hear a caster fail to do anything with the airtime between the start of the game and Feudal age is pure, abject laziness.
It still can be future, but more likely will be smth in the middle - like 20 vill + base start in dark ageWhen EW came out -- it was hyped as the future of AOE2. Here we are four years later and the ladder has been dead for nearly the entire time, more so than DM was, which it replaced.
oh boy, well at least u got it right that many maps are garbage, congratz :@Now that I have laid out plenty of reasons why EW is hot trash, what reasons do you have that support it being better than standard RM?
