Hi!
I am wondering about the elo system in the ranked games.
I play AoE2 HD and DE for many years. I do not think, that i am a super-noob also I am not an expert, but I am a decent/good player.
After very many tough games, I somehow pushed my elo above 1100 on DE (actually i refined the bulgarians men-at-arms at arabia and turks cav. archer/fast imp on arena to achieve that).
The games are getting very easy, now. From approx. 1050 Elo, there wasn't any extreme hard enemy anymore. Now, I win like 3 in 4 games or so. But some weeks ago in the 950 - 1050 elo range there have been so many extremely good players. I did not have any chance in many games and I lost sometimes more games than I won.
I do not think, that I got that much better in like 2 weeks (after playing years and years with same intensity). There must be some heavy flaws in the elo system.
Actually I am sure, that I play much better than the average AoE2 Player (I know build orders, some really mean tactics (stealing boar, trush, persian douche, ...), I know to micro archers vs. mangonels etc. etc.) Looking at the elo distribution I guess, that my "true" elo should be around 1200. But why it was so insane hard to get out of the ~1000 elo range? What is wrong, here? Anybody experience something similar?
