Let me make that clear: All that doesn't matter at all. It is not important who you are, if your girlfriend is a person of colour, what you do in your spare time, volunteering or not, what you think is an insult or not.
You don't need to tell anyone about your background, for sure it should show a bit about your awareness, but in the end you need to LISTEN to people being offended talking and take them serious and not defend yourself or the offender. Listening to people saying that they were insulted by someone using racist stereotypes and not tell the people around you it isn't racist in some contexts. And now I want to stop talking about you or what you do and what not. Because this situation is not about you.
I want to know what @DracKeN has to say. He was using racist stereotypes to insult someone trying to get out of this situation by holding up the mirror ("he also insulted me") as the offender in this situation.
If he has no contextualisation or an honest excuse deeply from the heart for what happened and assures us this will never happen again - we as a community need see him as a racist and take further steps.
Not a foot wide to the racists. Period.
Surely this is not about me but knowing dracont for some years now I can wholeheartedly guarantee that his sincere apology came from the deepest depths of his heart and to even hint that he might ever repeat this mistake in the future is beyond unreasonable and at the moment completely inconceivable to me.
