Hey i am newbie to AOC.. imagine a game 10yr old and you still have newbies.. I got a few questions following on the scene here some gameplay related and some history related.. would be great if can get some pointers/answers:
1. Is there a boom tutorial which says how do you boom, what should be the build order etc .. may be a FC and boom.. at what time you should go to imp and when you start making army etc?
2. How can I develop my micro game? I tend to lose focus on eco while attacking and vise versa.. how do i remember to switch back and forth between different places of action? Are hotkeys the only way to do so?
3. Can i change the default sounds in AOC to help my gameplay for e.g. lets say I have to do carto and I build a market.. often it happens that i build a market and after 5 mins realize i did not do carto.. so may be i change the aoc default sound for market build as "Market build complete" just so that I pay more attention to it?
4. The numerous recd games that I watched seems to me the top players have a perfect eco.. what I mean by that is they always have just enough resources to have a counter army available to them.. this seems like a high level observation I am sure would take yrs of practice..
5. In most tg I get reluctant to do the following and am wondering how to avoid this
a. I lose all hope when some of my villi gets killed
b. i hate deleting villis even if i know i hv enough
c. i hate fwd buildings since I am scared someone will destroy them and i lose building resources
d. i know 3-4 villis build fast but i still use 1 to build something
Now the above might be indicators of the newbie that I am.. i am sure if i someone else watches my gameplay they will know much more faults than i all ready do... also is there a Noob to NOn-Noob game pack available with proper commentary to show the step wise step improvement?
Last but not the least.. why the heck Microsoft is not supporting AOC2( and i mean this version only) when they know they have so many users playing this game and what has been done about this from the community side? Have we ever tried having dialogues with MS to get them working on this age old game or may be open source the code base to the community instead of painstakingly reverse engineer this to add mods etc?
Apologies for the length of this but i am just curious .. thanks in advance..
