I was thinking, isn't it high time to consider promoting AoCZone and aoc as a competitively played e-sport on steam more actively?
There are nice sections with videos and tutorials in the Steam AoC community and i think it would be meaningfull for viper, feage, zero, dreams and bbqturman to upload some of their videos from youtube with the links and descriptions.
This table shows there are already more than 77k ppl who have started the game on steam at least for once.
But it might happen that the nubmer of people on steam would start to decline after the whole excitement over the release settles down and we won't have such a big audience any longer.
As i see it, the majority of aoczone users have been excited about the reliese for the reason it would draw new people into the game. But it would hardly happen by itself. Althoug many are hoping for the developers support and new sponsorships there are still some other things we could do ourselfs. Something like giving an add about the viper vs daut bo21 and uploading their latest stream records onto the steam community page. Or giving links to current tornments so that the newcommers knew there are some activities happening around.
I've found bbqturkman's first tutorial uploaded and this is right what i'm talking about:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =137152769
There are also some other threads made by guys obviously familliar with the multiplayer:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =137161998
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =137692556
I'm unfamiliar with steam because i've never used it before but i'm willing to provide help and i'm currently thinking of how i can be of use.
