Enable mass deleting of units. I would dig that. Make it like a combination hotkey, say alt+delete which will delete all units selected.

Moats could be crossed by transport. Burning oil would need resources to keep burning or it will eventually go out.

They already added a cow, a wild camel and a really ugly tiger. Not exhaustive at all, I know. The problem is just that they haven't been used in many random maps at all, probably because not many people make random maps exclusively for FE.
Oh, I found 'em. The cow looks great, 350 of food :DI'm not aware of any random maps that have them, sorry
But you can look at them in the editor.
Edit: I just looked at them, and apparently the tiger has been fixed. It actually looks pretty good now.
And upon some testing, it seems the only one that would actually work for random map is the cow - the others are buggy.
Just saying, the "[AoFE] Official Bug & Balance list" thread has some great ideas that are probably being missed here
