Had this thought about a possibly new tourney idea, where players could play versus much higher/lower elo players if there was a fair handicap (in order to equal out the playing field).
Essentially roughly the way it would work:
1800 elo vs 2k5 elo
1800 elo would start with x amount extra food/wood/gold etc... *already collected*. NOT like extra gold piles, although maybe that could be incorporated as well if necessary? (Maybe extra units/vills as well?) Ultimately, it would just need to be a *fair* handicap. I'm sure pro players and such can weigh in on what would be fair.
Theoretically, this would equal out the playing field and the 1800 should have a much higher chance of succeeding vs the 2k5 elo.
Maybe this could be done in combination with something like T90's Hidden Cup (where player identities would be secret). Although, I suppose it wouldn't really be necessary, just an extra bonus.
Ideally, personally I'd like to see a tourney where its 1v1s. 32 players. 16 low elo. 16 high elo/pros. But, At the end of the day the possibilities would be endless. I.e. whether its 1v1, team game, # of low elo players in the tourney vs # of high elo players.
Anyway, I'm not sure if this idea has been explored before, or has already been done. Or if it's interesting to the community at all. Which is what prompted me to make this post - to gauge the feasibility and interest in the idea.
And, of course, hopefully, this post catches the attention of people who would be able to make this possible (pro players, casters/tourney organizers, sponsors, game modders etc..).
